Role Overview
The Manufacturing/Process Engineer is responsible for designing, validating, implementing, and continuously improving production processes to ensure on-time delivery with required quality and optimized cost. The role leads new product industrialization, supports production, and drives continuous improvement using structured problem-solving and lean methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
1.Process Design, Validation & Implementation
- Develop and implement robust manufacturing processes aligned with QCD targets.
- Prepare and maintain PFD, PFMEA, Control Plan, and SOPs.
- Lead process validation and technology transfer activities.
2.Continuous Improvement
- Drive Lean, Kaizen, and productivity improvements.
- Conduct time studies, MOST analysis, and line balancing.
- Implement poka-yoke, automation, and digital solutions.
3.Capacity & Layout Planning
- Perform capacity planning and Cp/Cpk studies.
- Design plant layouts, material flow, and workstation optimization.
- Improve throughput and production efficiency.
4.New Product Industrialization
- Lead APQP, FMEA, and new product launch.
- Establish manufacturing lines and ensure smooth ramp-up.
5.Tooling & Automation
- Design jigs, fixtures, and assembly tools.
- Troubleshoot process and tooling issues to maintain stability.
6.CAPEX & Budgeting
- Prepare ROI for capital investments.
- Handle procurement, installation, and commissioning of equipment.
Skills & Competencies
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen knowledge.
- Expertise in PFMEA, APQP, Control Plan.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on automation and assembly line experience.
Experience & Qualification
- Experience: 10–12 years
- Qualification: Diploma or BE Mechanical
Industry & Domain
- Automotive / Rolling Stock preferred
- Rubber-to-metal bonded components
Technical Knowledge
- Hydraulic press, vulcanization, assembly processes, painting
