Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Requirements and Verification Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in either San Diego, CA, El Segundo, CA, or Palmdale, CA.
Roles and responsibilities include:
- Perform system definition activities for features and DRs, including by defining use cases, requirements, and feature acceptance criteria.
- Supporting cross-IPT development of system and segment level requirements and use cases
- Implementing requirements verification methodology and traceability
- Supporting development of interface definitions and integration plans
- Conducting formal integration and support capabilities-based system level testing of fully integrated complex software and hardware subsystems
- Evaluating integration and test anomalies and assist disposition and correction of issues as found
- Performing requirements verification and selloff
- Providing support to flight test and fielded assets
- Coordinate with REs and System Test to ensure integrated functions are ready for the test team to formally verify.
- Leveraging your ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment, showing your action oriented, strong attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
- Using your experience supporting Systems Engineering Milestones SRR, PDR and CDR.
- Leveraging your knowledge of experience in full lifecycle of Systems Engineering, including requirements decomposition, test planning, requirements verification and requirements management.
- You will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM field and 5 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM field 3 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a PhD and 1 year of relevant military / professional experience
- Must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current SAP clearance to program
- Demonstrated communication and technical writing skills.
- Experience in ICD development and integration
- Experience in System Test
- Proven ability to brief technical presentations to stakeholders.
- Experience with multiple disciplines across Systems Engineering, incl. requirements, integration, technical configuration management (CM or Technical Baseline), cyber
- Experience in DOORS & Atlassian Tool Suite
- Experience with Agile Design Methodology
