Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for a Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals in our San Diego, CA location supporting the Advanced Communications and Networks (ACN) Operating Unit under the Connectivity and Networked Solutions (CNS) Business Unit. This position is Onsite located in San Diego, CA. We are unable to accommodate a full-time remote arrangement. We are looking for a data-driven Planning Specialist supporting the Global Supply Chain (GSC) organization to coordinate and execute assigned tasks within established constraints, while also being flexible to ever evolving program requirements.

What you'll get to do:
- Develop supply chain strategy and leads activities for GSC in all phases of the Northrop Grumman Business Acquisition Process (BAP), working with program team members from requirements establishment through final material deliveries
- Responsible for the assessment of supply resources; aggregates and prioritizes demand requirements; plans inventory, distribution requirements, production, material and rough-cut capacity for all products
- Contribute to the management of GSC scope for multifaceted program(s), proposal through close-out; coordinates interdepartmental activity, facilitates internal/external team communication, coordinates with Suppliers, and integrates efforts across all GSC functions
- Support supply chain execution and is accountable for horizontal and vertical integration, resource planning, material cost, forecasting, schedule performance, risk/opportunity and issue management, supplier performance, and issue resolution
- Analyze and aggregate supply / demand requirements
- Analyze purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools.
- Plan inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements
- Create/reduce supply requirements based on inventory adjustments
- Participate in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins as well as existing product line phase-outs.
- Create/release requisitions
- Receive/review requirements for non-standard parts
- Analyze lead times and identifies critical path procurements
- Regularly brief the GSC Program Management team and program leadership on GSC activity status and issues affecting program performance: Cost, risks and opportunities, and schedule
- Perform Control Account Management (CAM) duties in support of assigned programs that includes contributing to and reviewing Cost/Schedule actuals against plan, contribute to material requirements baselining, and working with Business Management stakeholders to provide variance analysis and get-well plans
- Serve as liaison between Receiving/Inspection teams and GSC Planning to address material deliveries that cannot be fully processed due to missing documents, POCs, etc.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years of experience, or Master’s Degree with at least 3 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Program/Project Management, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field
Direct experience working in Supply Chain / Logistics
Experience with SAP or similar Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system(s)
Experience in working with or in the areas of supplier financial reporting/forecasting, contracting/subcontracting, or supplier/program/product scheduling
US Citizenship
Ability to obtain a secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Secret or Top-Secret Security Clearance
Proficiency in SAP
Strong Excel and analytical skills
Proficiency in Earned Value Management methodology and subject matter
Control Account Manager (CAM) certification
Demonstrated success/experience in supply chain, business management, operations, logistics, engineering or program management
Demonstrated experience with SAP or similar Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system(s)
Demonstrated experience in working with or in the areas of supplier financial reporting/forecasting, contracting/subcontracting, or supplier/program/product scheduling
Experience with or general knowledge of Federal and Defense Contracting requirements including FAR/DFARS/ITAR

Experience working with multiple complex contracting types and agreements including FFP, CR and CPFF type contracts, while also having an understanding for special payment provisions (progress/performance-based payments)
