Northrop Grumman Mission Systems' Baltimore and Partnered Sites (BaPs) division is seeking Principal Electronics Engineer/ Senior Principal Electronics Engineer in Baltimore, MD.  This position requires a blend of Hardware and Software skills, experience with DC, Analog, Digital or RF test & measurement equipment, and a hands-on approach to troubleshooting complex electronic systems. Typical Roles and Responsibilities include:

·       Panel & cable design, electrical interconnects & schematics, developing acceptance criteria & certification procedures, and hardware checkout/troubleshooting.

·       Requirements definition

·       Full design cycle from conception through design to fabrication and integration/test.

·       Manufacturing support during the hardware build process

·       Integration of Hardware & Software into a functioning system

·       Certification with the Quality organization

·       System deployment and factory support

·       Software maintenance and / or Hardware refresh initiatives

 

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below

 

This requisition may be filled at either a Principal Level or a Sr. Principal Level. 

 

Basic Qualifications Principal Electronics Engineer:

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years’ experience, Master’s degree in STEM with 3 years’ experience, or PhD with 1 year of experience.  4 years of additional experience can be considered in lieu of degree
• Experience understanding in hardware design to include panel and/or cable design, schematic layouts, etc.
• Experience with Electrical designs such as integrated (analog, power, digital), panel design, cable design, and schematic layouts
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Active US Government Secret Clearance
• Ability to work onsite in Baltimore, MD

 

Basic Qualifications Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer:

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 8 years’ experience, Master’s degree in STEM with 6 years’ experience; or a
• Experience understanding in hardware design to include panel and/or cable design, schematic layouts, etc.
• Experience with Electrical designs such as integrated (analog, power, digital), panel design, cable design, and schematic layouts
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Active US Government Secret Clearance
• Ability to work onsite in Baltimore, MD

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·       Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM discipline

·       Experience with integrated (analog, power, digital) hardware design and hands-on troubleshooting of electrical hardware

·       Experience with lab test equipment, such as DMMs, O-Scopes, or related

·       Experience with electrical design tools (e.g., Zuken, AutoCAD, PSpice, Siemens Capital)

·       Active SAP clearance

 

**This position is contingent upon the ability to successfully transfer DoD Secret Clearance.

 

Primary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
