General Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated Principal Solutions Engineer to join our team of Solution Architects. In this strategic and cross-functional role, you will lead the design and delivery of scalable, high-impact solutions across Salesforce and other enterprise platforms. You will play a key role in shaping technical strategy, guiding engineering practices, and ensuring that our solutions align with business goals and deliver exceptional user experiences.

Job Specifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise software development, including significant experience with Salesforce.

  • 4+ years in a technical leadership or solution architecture role, with proven success designing complex, multi-system environments.

Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in Salesforce technologies including Apex, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce, and Salesforce APIs (REST/SOAP).

  • Experience designing and integrating solutions across multiple platforms, including public cloud services and on-premises systems.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (e.g., Git), and DevOps practices.

  • Proficiency in data modeling, security design, and performance optimization across large datasets and complex environments.

  • Experience with ETL processes, data migration, and managing multi-system integrations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA)

  • Salesforce Certified Application Architect or System Architect

  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II

  • Certifications in other enterprise platforms or cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, MuleSoft) are a plus

Primary Responsibilities

  • Solution Architecture: Design and oversee end-to-end solution architectures across Salesforce and other enterprise systems, translating business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable technical designs.

  • Technical Leadership: Provide thought leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, establish best practices for development, integration, and deployment across platforms.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Business, and Engineering teams to ensure cohesive and aligned solution delivery across systems.

  • Project Oversight: Lead solution delivery from planning through deployment, ensuring quality, scope, and timelines are met.

  • Platform Strategy & Innovation: Drive continuous improvement by identifying optimization opportunities, recommending new tools and technologies, and fostering innovation across platforms.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.

$109,100.00-$224,000.00

Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not.  All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
