We are the Entra Admin Management UX team part of IAM organization, to empower every Entra customer to drive organizational compliance and security through a high-quality, secure, and intelligent admin center. The team builds and maintains the Entra Admin Center – a single interface for managing Identities and access. It supports cloud environment and aims to deliver intuitive, consistent, and secure unified Admin experience; leads frontend engineering for Entra, setting standards for shared UX libraries. The team is also driving a transformative shift toward AI-first experience across agents, workflows and admin interfaces to provide unified Entra AI UX platform and shared infrastructure. We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to emphasize technical leadership, architectural ownership, cross-organization influence, AI innovation, platform strategy, and engineering excellence more than day-to-day implementation.

Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical vision, architecture, and long-term strategy for the Entra Admin Center and foundational administration experiences across Entra, Azure Portal and other MSEC Portals.
- Lead cross-organizational initiatives that advance AI-powered administration, platform modernization, and shared engineering capabilities, delivering scalable, secure, resilient, and accessible solutions.
- Partner with engineering, product, design, and security leaders to influence roadmap decisions, resolve complex technical challenges, and ensure successful execution of high-impact investments.
- Establish and champion engineering excellence through architectural guidance, operational rigor, performance optimization, and continuous improvement of platform quality and reliability.
- Mentor and develop senior engineers while raising the technical bar across the organization through thought leadership, technical reviews, and best-practice adoption.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of designing, coding, and troubleshooting cloud-based software.
- 7+ years of Proficient in various languages, especially web-based technologies like JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and C#.
- Demostrated ability to solve problems using query languages and tools such as Kusto.
- Demostrated abulity to collaborate and communicate across disciplines, levels, and product teams.
- Proficient in backend technologies and cloud-based architectures to build large-scale distributed systems and AI/ML, Agency experience.

Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
