Position Description:
Develops and enhances cloud applications, integrations, and workflow automations by evaluating architectural options, applying modern development frameworks, and leveraging platform Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). Designs, develops, and administers enterprise collaboration, identity, and productivity platforms to deliver secure, resilient, and efficient cloud services that support business operations. Supports the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI-enabled features within Microsoft 365, to improve enterprise search, document processing, collaboration, and operational efficiency. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management. Collaborates with cross functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals and continuous improvement across cloud and SaaS environments.
Primary Responsibilities:
Participates in architecture design teams.
Defines and implements application-level architecture.
Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.
Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.
Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
Plans and coordinates complex project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
Ensures compliance with corporate policies, industry standards, and security protocols throughout software development and maintenance.
Advises senior management on technical strategy.
Analyzes business and technical requirements, assesses alternative solution approaches, and provides guidance to leadership on improving architecture, development practices, governance, and cloud strategy.
Mentors junior team members.
Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation for applications supporting corporate initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing and maintaining Microsoft 365 platform, Cloud-based services, and Azure services, in a financial services environment.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing and maintaining Microsoft 365 platform, Cloud-based services, and Azure services, in a financial services environment.

Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) engineering and administering enterprise Microsoft 365 Tenant services, including -- SharePoint Online, Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), Microsoft Teams, and OneDrive for Business; implementing Guest user access (IAM), Conditional Access, and DLP policies with emphasis on security, governance, and operational resiliency; integrating AI-driven capabilities into M365 workloads, including intelligent search, document processing and workflow automation, leveraging Microsoft Copilot and Azure AI services; and migrating terabytes of data from legacy and on premises platforms to Share-Point Online using Metalogix, ShareGate, and SharePoint Migration Tool.
DE designing, developing, and architecting scalable and resilient software applications according to Agile methodologies; implementing Continuous Integration (CI) using GitHub and Jenkins; building web applications by applying object oriented principles, implementing Model-View-Controller (MVC) design patterns, and developing software products within modern development environments, using C#, .NET, and Visual Studio Code; and developing client-side solutions and automating administrative tasks in a financial services environment using PnP PowerShell, CSOM, Microsoft Graph API, and REST.
DE designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise Azure cloud solutions (including automated provisioning of virtual machines, installation and configuration of dependent software, orchestration of automation jobs and schedules, and CI/CD pipeline automation with enforced security, governance, and compliance controls), using Jenkins and GitHub.
DE developing client and server Cloud applications in a financial services environment using M365, Power Platform, Dataverse, Custom connectors, and RESTful APIs; developing critical compliance, governance, and financial crimes monitoring applications using Microsoft technologies -- PowerApps, Power Automate, Power, and Virtual Agents; and Enhancing Model-Driven applications with dynamic business logic, form validation, UI customization, and event driven behaviors using JavaScript client-side scripting APIs; and designing and developing end-to-end business intelligence solutions using Tableau and Microsoft Power BI, including transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights.

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
