Principle will also be responsible for development and monitoring of predictive and proactive mechanisms for governance and compliance of sourcing events against the defined guardrails, standards and procurement policies. Develop governance framework and processes to ensure continuous tracking of the compliance levels using advanced data analytics.

 

The principal will periodically collaborate with all domain PODs to ensure effective control mechanism is in place for different type of sourcing events and identify opportunities for improvement. Assess the risk impact of various sourcing activities and provide insights to the respective domain / category leads on risk mitigation

 

Based on the overall requirement the principal will liaise with other Procurement Excellence CoE members to run sprints for achieving targeted outcomes.

 

The principal as a part Procurement Excellence CoE, will identify the best practices, share their expertise & deep knowledge with CoE members to upskill and achieve overall growth for the CoE

Responsibilities

Key Activities & Responsibilities

§Oversee the development and Implementation of a robust, auditable and transparent end-to-end supply chain governance and risk framework for MTN.
§Oversee governance and compliance of sourcing events against the defined guardrails, standards and procurement policies.
§Review defined RFx templates, process for RFx release, methodology for supplier evaluation, awarding procedure etc. in line with the defined procurement policy and best practices, and ensure conformance with all applicable laws and trade agreements
§Oversee implementation of best practices on purchase categories, supplier portfolios and supplier relationship management
§Lead the consolidation the GSSC performance metrics focusing on cost savings, revenue generation, ESG targets, supplier base, contract compliance, vendor penalties, etc. and ensure accurate reporting to the senior leadership  
§Introduce practices to periodically monitor and optimize the supplier base to mitigate any potential risk or frauds incidents
§Conduct post facto checks to ensure proper accountability and transparency of the decisions made in awarding the contract to the supplier
§Support Global Lead Procurement Excellence in managing any risk impact from the partner markets and continuously monitor partner market sourcing activities to ensure risk mitigation protocols are in place to safeguard MTN
§Cascade the Yello Book guidelines to the Opcos and ensure the Opco standards, policies and processes are in line with the GSSC procurement policy
§While working in sprints with the respective category squads, oversee the identification of inefficiencies within the processes and provide expert guidance and advisory services on how to improve sourcing processes within each squad.
§Implement risk mitigation initiatives at a global level and cascade these initiatives to local Opco to ensure alignment with the business
§As the custodian of the defined DoA, ensure its adherence in all sourcing events
§As a part of Sprint review sessions, oversee review of existing service agreements (ISA & PSA) by tracking the SLAs agreed with the business functions / Opcos and identify revenue growth opportunities for GSSC
§Collaborate with Legal and Risk & Compliance team, to ensure effective governance and compliance to statutory requirements is adhered to and escalate potential risk concerns to senior leadership
§Support Global Lead Procurement Excellence to improve the control framework and reporting capabilities or other recommended initiatives to improve governance and compliance of the function
§As a part of Sprint planning, oversee development of standards and practices to manage supplier quality and continuous Improvement Initiatives to optimize supplier base and break them down into outcomes to be achieved
§As a part of the sprints, provide risk guidance and support to ensure effective due diligence is adhered to, risk mitigation is in place and continuously monitor risk during high value / critical sourcing events.
§Ensure control measures are effective, conduct internal checks to test the effectiveness of controls during sprints
§Attend daily stand-ups and discuss bottlenecks & focus areas identified during the sprints
Qualifications

Skills and Experience

Education:

Minimum 4-year Academic Degree (Business Finance / BSc: Computer Science Degree preferred)
Post graduate degree in Supply Chain Management and / or equivalent professional qualification (Preferred)

 

Experience

7 - 11 years relevant working experience
3 - 5 years of relevant category management experience
3 - 5 years of relevant working and managerial experience in Supply chain governance/ Process Excellence and Governance
3-5 years of experience with data science (python/R) and analytics driving spend analysis, process improvement and compliance detection programs is essential
Understanding of emerging supply chain practices, technology and tools
Experience working in a medium to large organization, managing Supply chain governance/ Process Excellence
Experience working across global locations/ regions and have a grasp of political, social, infrastructure and integrity challenges
Excellent content knowledge around Oracle, Coupa, Ivalua, SAP, Ariba and other ERP technologies
Experience in continuous improvement through the implementation of best practices (SCM)

 

Industry / Certifications (Advantageous):

Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS)
Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification
Six Sigma certification (advantageous)
