Job Description
The Principal Manufacturing Engineer develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub‑assemblies and final assemblies. Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities:
1. Work with multi-function team to lead and/or facilitate manufacturing, manage the transfer program or NPI project from oversea sites.
2. Develop investment and expense needs, driving from preparing for approval to completion.
3. Develop manufacturing process for NPI, document process change, driving process/tooling improvements, driving lead time improvement, cost of quality(COQ), and EHS actions.
4. Provide technical support and guidance to production for engineering issues.
5. Manage all technical aspects of the ECO process into production organization.
6. Ensure new process have adequately demonstrated specified process and test control capabilities, through being the champion for the PFMEA, DFM.
7. Participate in LEAN activities, engage 6 Sigma tools for process improvements to reduce costs and manufacturing lead time.
8. Design necessary fixtures and tooling for NPI and for process improvements.
9. Manage multiple projects by providing scheduling, resource management, budget control and EHS compliance.
10. Training to the production team based on working instructions and previous quality issues.
11. The ability to work independently and be able to communicate with multi-function and management effectively is required.
12. Other engineering related tasks assigned by his/her manager.
Basic Qualifications:
1. Fluent in both spoken and written English
2. More than 15 years work experience related, include oversea production transferring experience as role of key team member.
3. Good Lean manufacturing and process knowledge
4. Demonstrated problem solving skills.
5. Good project management skills
6. Prefer to be familiar with FDA/ISO13485/TS16949 quality system regulations
