BAE Systems is looking for a visionary Senior Principal II Mechanical Engineer to step into a pivotal leadership role as our Principal Integration Engineer, All-Up Round.
In this role, you won't just manage a project; you will be the technical authority driving the development of Precision Guided Munition (PGM) systems. From all-up round weapon system interfaces and propelling charges to the complex logistics of packaging and transport, you will oversee the critical components that ensure our munitions perform flawlessly in the field.
What You'll Do
As the Complete Round IPT Lead, you will bridge the gap between high-level strategy and technical execution:

• Drive Technical Excellence: Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver world-class products on time and within budget, proactively neutralizing risks before they impact the mission.
• Architect the Portfolio: Partner with the Program Engineering Director to shape the technical vision and strategic roadmap for the PGM portfolio, ensuring we stay ahead of the curve.
• Lead the Charge: Take ownership of all-up round interfaces, propelling charges, and support equipment, ensuring seamless integration and uncompromising quality.
• Champion the Team: Act as a mentor and technical coach, elevating the skills of your engineering staff and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical mastery.
• Navigate Complexity: Lead the execution of critical program milestone reviews and system demonstration tests, ensuring every deliverable exceeds customer expectations.
• Influence Stakeholders: Serve as a key communicator, translating complex technical status and risks into actionable insights for internal leadership and government stakeholders.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (or a related technical field) and 10+ years of proven success in mechanical engineering, with a track record of leading and mentoring technical teams.
• Experience with the design, development, and test of guided munitions.
• Knowledge of Systems Engineering-specifically in interpreting customer requirements, system architecture and design tradeoffs, and the verification/validation of complex systems.
• Ability to engineer innovative solutions to the most challenging technical hurdles and a thorough understanding of engineering principles.
• Proficiency in project management tools, including Earned Value Management (EVM) and Cost Account Management.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build strategic relationships with customers and across all levels of an organization.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Master's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with 10+ years of applicable experience.
• Direct experience with design, development, and testing of large caliber munitions.
• Experience coaching and developing technical teams.
• Experience with model-based engineering techniques and tools with an ability to apply systems thinking to complex problems.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $149603 - $254317
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
