The Xceptor Delivery Team is responsible for delivering varied Xceptor projects across the financial services industry, from short deliverables and consultancy opportunities to longer-term strategic change and transformation programmes, across new and existing clients.
The team provides expertise in how Xceptor can be configured and deployed to solve our clients' business problems, and is usually involved from project inception through to go-live, helping clients analyse, configure, test, deploy and expand their Xceptor platform.
As a Principal in Client Delivery, you will act as the senior delivery lead on our largest and most complex Xceptor engagements, taking end-to-end ownership of delivery quality and client outcomes on large-scale projects for clients in the capital markets space. You will be the escalation point for delivery risk, the standard-bearer for delivery excellence, and a role model for less experienced members of the team.
This is not a purely oversight role. You will be hands-on and actively engaged in project delivery — working directly within project teams, close to the detail, rather than managing solely from a distance. Alongside this hands-on delivery work, you will bring structure, pace, and rigour to complex programmes, hold delivery teams and clients to a high standard, and course-correct proactively when delivery is not meeting expectations. Deep Xceptor product knowledge is preferred and will accelerate your credibility with clients and colleagues, but what matters most is that you are highly self-driven, decisive, hands-on, and have a strong track record of leading delivery on large, complex, client-facing programmes.
You will work in close partnership with the Regional Delivery Director and the Principal Business Analyst to review delivery performance across accounts, identify where delivery practices are falling short of the bar, and put in place the coaching, process, or structural changes needed to raise them. You will also work with this group to explore white space within existing accounts — identifying opportunities to expand the value Xceptor delivers to clients through additional services and engagements.
This is a role for an experienced delivery professional who thrives on ownership, is comfortable operating with autonomy, and is motivated by building a delivery function that consistently exceeds client expectations.
🧩 What You’ll Be Doing:- Hands-on delivery: Work as an active, hands-on member of project teams on large-scale engagements — not solely in an oversight capacity — engaging directly in solution design, key configuration decisions, and delivery activities alongside the wider project team.
- Delivery leadership: Act as the delivery lead on large-scale, complex client engagements, owning the overall delivery plan, governance, and outcomes from initiation through to go-live and beyond.
- Delivery quality assurance: Own and safeguard delivery quality across assigned accounts and projects, proactively identifying risk and intervening early to keep delivery on track.
- Team coaching: Provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and mentorship to delivery consultants and associates working on your projects, raising capability across the team.
- Escalation management: Act as the senior escalation point for delivery issues, engaging clients and internal stakeholders to resolve issues quickly and protect the relationship.
- Continuous improvement: Contribute to the ongoing evolution of Xceptor's delivery methodology, tooling, and best practice, sharing lessons learned across the wider delivery organization.
- Team champion and sales partnership: Act as the champion of the Client Delivery team, representing its capabilities and standards internally and externally; partner closely with the wider Xceptor team on services sales, client presentations, and pre-sales engagements to help shape and win new opportunities.
- A strong track record of leading delivery on large-scale, complex projects, ideally within enterprise software, data, or technology implementation environments.
- Significant experience working directly with clients in the capital markets or broader financial services space.
- Proven ability to act as a delivery lead: owning project governance, managing risk, and driving multi-workstream delivery to successful outcomes.
- Deep knowledge of the Xceptor platform is preferred; where this is not already in place, candidates must be able to demonstrate they can acquire it quickly through hands-on self-drive.
- Experience defining, refining, or uplifting delivery practices, standards, or methodology within a team or organization.
- A university degree (or equivalent) is preferred; relevant delivery leadership experience will be weighted heavily alongside formal qualifications.
- Experience operating in a consultancy, professional services, or client-facing software delivery environment.
- Familiarity with relational databases, XML, and standard enterprise software implementation lifecycles is beneficial.
