A Day in the LifeThe Endoscopy Operating Unit develops technologies that support the detection, prevention, and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases and cancers. The team combines software, data, and connected device capabilities to deliver digital solutions that enhance clinical workflows, patient management, and healthcare outcomes.
This position is based in Hyderabad, India and follows a Flex work arrangement, combining onsite and remote work based on business and team needs. No travel is anticipated for this role.
As a Principal Enterprise Software Engineer, you will lead the design and development of cloud-based software solutions that integrate with connected medical technologies. This role provides technical leadership across the software development lifecycle, driving scalable architectures, cloud-native solutions, and engineering practices that support secure, reliable, and compliant products.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead the architecture, design, and development of full-stack cloud applications and services that integrate with connected medical products.
  • Design and implement scalable microservices, application programming interfaces (APIs), and distributed systems using Python, FastAPI, React, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies.
  • Evaluate and recommend cloud services, frameworks, and architectural patterns to improve scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
  • Drive technical excellence through code reviews, design reviews, testing strategies, and adherence to established engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to refine requirements, develop technical solutions, and support product delivery from concept through post-release support.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation to support quality, regulatory, and business requirements.
  • Implement and optimize continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Mentor engineering team members and contribute to continuous improvement of software development processes and product quality.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline and 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 6+ years of full-stack web application development using Python.
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale microservices and distributed systems architectures.
  • Experience developing cloud-native applications utilizing Amazon Web Services (AWS) and container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL database development, API design, event-driven architectures, and real-time data processing solutions.
  • Experience developing front-end applications using React or Angular, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing software products within the medical device industry or another regulated industry.
  • Experience applying object-oriented design principles and established software design patterns.
  • Experience with networking and communication protocols used in distributed systems.
  • Experience performing security assessments, risk analysis, and secure software development activities.
  • Experience working within Agile software development environments and leading technical initiatives across engineering teams.
