We are hiring a Principal Engineer to lead the technical design and development of highly scalable backend systems. This is a hands-on technical leadership role involving architecture, system design, complex problem-solving and mentoring of senior engineers.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build large-scale distributed backend systems.
- Improve system performance, reliability, scalability and availability.
- Solve complex problems related to concurrency, consistency and asynchronous processing.
- Own key architecture and technical design decisions.
- Work hands-on with critical components and production systems.
- Set engineering standards and provide technical guidance across teams.
- Mentor senior engineers and support technical decision-making.
- Explore and implement AI-assisted development and AI/ML solutions where relevant.
Must-Have Technical Skills
- 12+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Golang (Go).
- Strong experience with Java, Python or C++ can also be considered.
- Deep understanding of Distributed Systems, Concurrency, Consistency Models and Asynchronous Architecture.
- Strong System Design and Architecture experience.
- Production experience with AWS, GCP or Azure.
- Strong experience with Relational and NoSQL databases.
- Strong troubleshooting experience across performance, reliability and scalability.
- Previous experience as a Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer or equivalent.
- Strong technical communication and mentoring skills.
