Principal PS Consultant

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Tech Lead to join the HERE Professional Services - Global Solution Engineering team.

This role involves leading the technical delivery of customer-facing software solutions across industries such as Automotive, Transport, and Logistics. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of solution development, from planning and design to implementation and testing, while serving as the technical authority within your project scope. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, including project, product, and engineering teams, as well as interface with customers around the globe. You will play a vital role in ensuring the successful delivery of software design, implementation, integration, and quality.

Solution Scope and Delivery

• Analyze requirements and contribute to opportunity scoping, technical analysis and effort estimation.

• Support backlog creation and refinement.

• Design and document technical solutions aligned with customer needs and architectural standards.
• Act as the technical authority within the assigned project scope.
• Actively participating in all development phases with hands-on software development contributions.

Technical Leadership

• Define and communicate a shared technical vision across teams.
• Lead internal and external development teams to meet project delivery goals within predetermined timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Maintain comprehensive system-level understanding by contributing hands-on to development, integration, and testing activities.
• Mentor and coach team members to foster growth and technical excellence.
• Drive adoption of engineering best practices and frameworks.
• Lead internal initiatives that support strategic engineering goals.

Communication and Stakeholder Management

• Communicate project status, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders.
• Translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences, ensuring clarity for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Serve as the technical point of contact between the program and development teams.

• Collaborate with Solution Architects on solution design and implementation planning.

• Coordinate with functional managers and program managers on execution and risk management.

• 10+ years of relevant experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar technical field, with a relevant Bachelor's or higher degree.

• Technical Proficiency (either of below or both):

  • Extensive experience in backend development, with expertise in modern programming languages, technologies, and concepts, including object-oriented and functional design, cloud-native architectures, REST, stream and batch processing using Java, Scala, JavaScript, Kubernetes, AWS etc.

  • Extensive experience in the mobile development domain, embedded systems, with expertise in modern programming languages, technologies, and concepts, including object oriented design, architecture, Android/Kotlin, C++, Java, Swift, JavaScript/TypeScript, Flutter/Dart, React JS, gRPC,

• Experience with automotive OEMs and integrators is a plus.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Passion for learning and the ability to evaluate and adapt to new challenges, like integrating new technologies.

• Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities.

• Effective communication, project and stakeholder management.

• Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.

• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
