Principal Platform Engineer

The Role

As Senior Principal Engineer for Platform, you own how kAIgentic's platform runs in production as we move from build into live operations for regulated customers. You partner with our architects to take their designs to production and keep them there, owning availability, support, and reliability, and you build the team and the practices that hold as the org scales. You report to the CTO, lead a team of engineers, and represent kAIgentic's engineering credibly to banking customers and regulators.

What You'll Do

• Own production reliability for a regulated workload end to end: availability, support, SLOs, on-call posture, and the incident discipline required for five-nines and audit integrity

• Partner with the architects to take platform designs to production and keep them running: services, data, multi-tenancy, and the reliability and observability backbone on which all product ships

• Run the engineering floor day to day, owning delivery cadence so that platform health, quality, and delivery never depend on a single person

• Grow the next layer of technical leaders beneath you and drive engineering rigor across programs so nothing critical slips as the org scales toward production

• Hold the production bar across DevOps, SRE, security, and quality, serving as the senior technical authority the team escalates to

• Represent platform capability, resilience, and continuity directly to banking customers and regulators, answering the business-continuity, risk, and capability-depth questions a regulated customer will ask
  

What You'll Bring

• Proven track record as an experienced engineering leader who has led production for B2B platforms, instrumental in their design, build, operation, and production support, with real responsibility when they were live

• Understands architecture well enough to take it to production in partnership with architects, earns the team's trust through engineering and operational judgment, and communicates technical reality to engineering, executive, customer, and regulatory audiences without loss of precision

• Hands-on experience with the building blocks of distributed AI systems: workflow and orchestration engines, durable execution, LLM integration and governance, and event-driven or high-concurrency backends; direct experience is a strong plus and the ability to get deep fast is essential

• Strong working fluency in Go and Python, with deep understanding of their production behavior under load

• AI-native velocity as a default mode of working (mandatory)

• Deep expertise in 5+ of the following:

  • Reliability and SRE practice: SLO design, incident elimination, and sustainable on-call for high-availability systems

  • Production support and operational rigor for regulated or high-stakes environments

  • Multi-tenant isolation and platform design for regulated or high-stakes environments

  • DevOps, deployment, and CI/CD for complex multi-component systems

  • Observability platform at multi-tenant scale

  • Security architecture and compliance-by-design for banking or similarly regulated industries

  • Taking platform architecture to live operation in partnership with architects, on the hook for the result

  • Building reusable platform primitives that let many product teams move faster
