The Principal Analyst - AI Portfolio is responsible for driving AI use cases from intake to production, with full end-to-end ownership of outcomes. This role sits at the intersection of business and technology, reimagining business processes using AI/GenAI, designing target-state solutions, and delivering tangible, measurable outcomes within a governed banking environment. This is an accountable individual contributor role suited for a go-getter who thrives in ambiguity, operates with a consulting mindset, and can shepherd AI solutions through delivery.

 The Enterprise AI Transformation team partners with business, technology, and risk stakeholders to identify high-value AI opportunities and deliver scalable, compliant AI solutions. The team drives end-to-end AI adoption, leveraging GenAI and advanced analytics to transform business processes and create measurable business outcomes

This role directly influences the bank's AI transformation journey by reimagining business processes, accelerating automation, and delivering AI-powered solutions that improve efficiency, decision-making, and customer outcomes. Success in this role creates tangible business value while advancing responsible AI adoption across the enterprise.

Key Deliverables

AI Portfolio Ownership

Own and drive the AI use case portfolio for a dedicated business domain, leading initiatives from intake through production with strong execution, stakeholder alignment, and measurable business outcomes.

Solution Delivery

Drive the design and build of AI/GenAI solutions in a global delivery model, including model development, validation, and performance monitoring. Serve as the embedded AI lead within the delivery pod, either directly contributing as a pseudo data scientist or managing and directing offshore data science resources.  

Value Measurement and ROI Management
Define and implement a structured value measurement framework for the AI use case portfolio. Quantify ROI, track realized vs. projected value, and educate business stakeholders on the true cost of AI.

AI Governance
Ensure AI solutions adhere to established governance standards by embedding appropriate controls and guardrails, while partnering with risk pillars (MRM, TPRM, etc.) across the bank to deliver responsible, secure, and compliant outcomes. 

Business Process Reimagination Using AI

Given a current-state process and its pain points, independently redesign and transform it using AI, GenAI, and advanced analytics to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance decision-making.  

AI Solutioning and Target State Design

Define the AI-enabled target state process flow for each use case. Determine the right AI/ML approach, recommend models, evaluate build vs. buy options, and identify what should and should not be addressed with AI. Must be able to structure vague, open-ended problem statements into well-formed AI solutions independently.

Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of experience in Data management, information technology, financial services, enterprise risk management, or related disciplines with leadership in AI/advanced analytics delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven track record delivering multiple AI, ML, and GenAI products or use cases from ideation through production deployment and value realization

  • Strong executive stakeholder management experience, including interaction with senior leaders, business executives, and cross-functional leadership teams

  • Technology consulting experience at firms such as Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwC, McKinsey, BCG, Bain, or similar organizations

  • Hands-on experience working with AI Governance, Responsible AI, Model Risk Management (MRM), Technology Risk, Compliance, Legal, Privacy, or other control functions

  • Demonstrated ability to drive end-to-end AI product delivery across business, technology, data science, and governance stakeholders

  • Experience managing portfolios consisting of multiple AI initiatives simultaneously while balancing strategic priorities and delivery timelines

  • Experience defining and implementing AI value measurement frameworks, ROI models, and outcome tracking mechanisms

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation, and influencing skills with the ability to gain alignment across diverse stakeholder groups

  • Experience working with modern AI and data platforms including AWS AI/ML, Snowflake, vector databases, orchestration frameworks, and MLOps platforms

  • Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, influence without authority, and successfully deliver transformational AI initiatives with measurable business impact
