We are looking for a skilled PostgreSQL Database Administrator to manage, optimize, and secure database environments across on-premises and cloud platforms. You will play a key role in ensuring database performance, availability, and reliability while supporting ongoing projects and operations.
Responsabilities:
- Administer and maintain PostgreSQL databases (on-prem and cloud environments)
- Manage database lifecycle, including upgrades, patching, and performance tuning
- Design and implement backup, recovery, and high availability (HA/DR) strategies
- Monitor system performance (CPU, memory, storage) and plan capacity needs
- Ensure system-level and database-level security, including access control and authentication
- Analyze and optimize queries using performance tools (e.g., Explain Plan, profilers)
- Support deployment and change management, including schema updates and CI/CD pipelines
- Troubleshoot incidents and perform root cause analysis
- Collaborate with developers and architects on database design (schemas, indexes, views)
- Improve monitoring, automation, and error-prevention processes
- Participate in project activities and 24/7 on-call rotation
Requirements
- Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (on-prem and cloud)
- Experience with other databases (e.g., MongoDB, SQL Server, Oracle) is a plus
- Strong knowledge of backup/recovery, HA/DR, and performance tuning
- Experience with database security (system-level and application-level)
- Familiarity with capacity planning and resource management
- Experience with deployment processes and CI/CD integration
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
