Chemours is seeking a Site Capital Planner / Material Coordinator to join our growing team. This position will be available at our La Porte, TX location.
The Site Capital Planner / Material Coordinator has overall responsibility for building project plans and ordering materials needed per project design package. Help develop a plan for cost-effective execution and timely completion. Manage materials ordered, ensure materials are available when and where needed, and maintain accurate records. Kit packages for maintenance or contractor to the appropriate design package. Check all received material per QA plan, received per procedure, stored and tracked in the appropriate area for disbursement. Write requisitions for Capital equipment/material/services. Add needed line items to purchase orders throughout project lifecycle. Work with vendors to close out invoices and resolve any web cycles. Supports in-field execution of project work as back-up for construction manager.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Planner Responsibilities:
Reviewing SOW for field execution feasibility
Track and report out on materials ordered and invoiced
Verifies Bill of Materials (BOM) against Construction Drawings, pipe codes, standards
Verifies quotes are provided and up to date for engineered equipment
Updates quotes and/or obtains quotes for basic material, as needed
Enters all material from BOM and quotes into requisitions for purchase in SAP, notifies Coordinator or PM that the requisition is ready for approval
Follows up with purchasing to ensure requisition was received and PO being created and released.
Follows up with vendor to ensure PO is received, understood and to obtain an expected delivery date.
Enter all material ordered into tracking spreadsheet.
Updates spreadsheet as material order information is obtained
Checks receiving daily to obtain any received material and updates spreadsheet accordingly
Engages Site Procurement Lead, as needed, for any material that is not meeting delivery schedule
Addresses requisition changes, PO changes/cancellations as they occur and notifies PM for all capital changes
Monitors receiving QA activities to help ensure QA is being done
Utilizes ISO in Desing Package to create bolt up and weld map plan - for piping, instruments, valving etc. May obtain bolt up & weld map plan from contractor to utilize for tagging
Enters scope of work into WO by operation for each craft
Enters an operation for SAP data resource to update SAP
Engages crafts as needed to verify man hours and accuracy of SOW and BOM
Conducts walk down of work area with crafts to ensure all tasks are captured
Adds additional material to requisition if identified by crafts
Modifies manhours, if need, identified by crafts
Tags spool pieces, valves, instruments, and bolt up bags with designations as per the plan
Initiates operation in WO to have Maintenance bench check and calibrate
Conducts walk-down of job site with construction to verify all material is on hand and work is ready to schedule
Once all material is received, marks the workorder "RTS" and notifies CM or PM
Identifies crafts/resources required to complete project
Enters an operation for PSSR and SAP updated
Manage close-out of all open commitments and Accounts Payable open items by resolving iPay notices
Support Construction Manager in field during execution
Receiving Responsibilities:
Fluent in SAP (System Application Product)
Receive all material in SAP within 24 hours of delivery to site
Count and verify all freight/material deliver
Perform all required receiving QA inspections as noted in the QA Documentation
Notify COD Planner, Small Project Coordinator, or Project Manager within 24 hours of delivery.
Receive all hot shots first, Federal Express, UPS Red, etc… and contact requisitioner by phone or Teams Chat within an hour of receipt
Check & verify SAP description, packing slip and material part number (3-way check)
Write material SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Report) report for any discrepancies with incoming material. (SCAR entered electronically)
Write purchase order number, work order number and unloading point on the material receipt for the requisitioner.
Update Material Tracker of received material.
Load and unload material from freight trucks and store in Capital Warehouse area or as directed by CM or Project Manager.
Contact vendor(s) for discrepancies
Support as requested, 24-Hour Shut Down coverage
Maintain housekeeping in the receiving area/valve testing shop
Inspect electric and diesel forklifts prior to use
Perform material essential receiving inspection (MERI Standards)
File packing slips - weekly
File certification reports
Yearly – file previous year packing slips, bill of ladings, certifications, and request for shipments in boxes to start a new year.
Communicate with CM and PM when QA/QC is complete
Maintain kit log
Issues kit material as requested by CM or PM
Analyze material of construction, as needed; perform PMI
Valve Testing:
Tag valves for valve test shop
Receive valves
File packing slips
SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Report)/RM's and Request for Shipments
Valve testing/nuclear analyzer
The following is required for this role:
High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
Experience in work order planning, material procurement
Proficient in the use of SAP
Proficient in reviewing and developing Bill of Material (BOM) for field installations of mechanical and instrument/electrical equipment.
Self-motivated and capable of completing assignments with minimal guidance
Organized, ambitious with the ability to drive work effectively in an expedited time frame
Proficient in the use of computers, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, respirators, etc.
The following is preferred for this role:
5+ years of experience in the following tasks
Planning capital work orders
Building job plans
Material procurement
Construction experience in petrochemical or refining industries
