Role Summary

The Planning Leader will be responsible for overseeing the production planning process to ensure that manufacturing operations run efficiently on time, and in alignment with business priorities. This leadership position plays a critical role in coordinating with engineering, purchasing, and operations teams, and in driving process excellence, continuous improvement, and high safety standards.

Role Purpose

To lead, develop, and execute dynamic and accurate production plans that optimize resources, ensure delivery commitments, and support the transformation journey of FLSmidth’s rubber manufacturing operation in Casablanca. This role is essential for connecting business strategy with shop floor execution.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning

  • Develop and manage production plans based on inputs from engineering, purchasing, and machine availability.

  • Plan and schedule daily, weekly, and monthly activities aligned with capacity and delivery targets.

  • Monitor job progress, adjust priorities, and ensure real-time visibility of performance metrics (KPIs).

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with production, engineering, purchasing, and quality teams to align supply chain and manufacturing goals.

  • Resolve bottlenecks, manage conflicts in scheduling, and lead prioritization of critical items and urgent orders.

Performance and Process Improvement

  • Analyse and optimize production processes for efficiency, cost reduction, and quality.

  • Promote and implement continuous improvement initiatives aligned with global manufacturing standards.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with FLS health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQA) standards.

  • Foster a strong safety culture through leadership and active participation in HSEQA activities.

  • Ensure all planning activities align with ISO standards and local legal compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Civil Engineering or related fields.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role within manufacturing or industrial settings.

  • Demonstrated leadership in planning and production control, with team supervision responsibilities.

  • Deep understanding of production processes, inventory management, quality assurance, and resource optimization.

  • Experience with ERP systems (preferably Epicor and/or D365).

  • Experience in continuous improvement and change management processes.

  • Intermediate level of English (written and spoken).

  • Availability for occasional business travel as part of the global planning strategy.
