P&G is seeking a scientist for a PhD internship role. The role will involve the development of novel approaches, novel proteins, and enzyme-catalyzed reactions to enable access of high value ingredients for rinse off products. The candidate will:
Conduct literature reviews, IP landscapes and develop novel enzymatic transformations to form high value ingredients materials. Design and engineer enzymes to optimize product yields. Use computational models and methods to evaluate biodegradability of new materials. Candidates will use their chemistry, biology, engineering and/or analytical expertise to solve sophisticated technical problems.

We are looking for a candidate who is pursuing a PhD in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Analytical Chemistry, Bioengineering, Biochemistry or other related field.
Additional qualifications include:
Experienced and/or understanding of organic chemistry, enzymology, protein design, bioengineering, molecular biology, synthetic biology, and materials science. Experience in protein chemistry, including recombinant production, various purification methods, characterization and biophysicochemical property characterization of enzymes. Computational chemistry (modelling) and formulation chemistry a plus. Demonstrated ability to work independently, formulate hypothesis, develop tests, plans problem solves, analyze and interpret data. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proven agility and ability to learn new skills. Has strong collaboration and communication skills.
