Private Markets is a rapidly growing group within Neuberger with over $100 billion of investor commitments across our private markets fund of funds, secondary investments, co-investment and direct investment areas. The Private Markets Finance Group is responsible for all aspects of accounting, operations, treasury, valuation and tax as it relates to this platform. In addition to these core competencies the team acts in a partnership capacity with the various businesses and related areas on new mandates, structuring and limited partner interface.
The Private Markets Finance Group is looking to hire a Performance Specialist who will be responsible for performance calculation, tracking and monitoring as it relates to the private markets business funds, mandates and separate accounts.
Responsibilities:
Calculation of Fund, Separate Account and Mandate performance across the Private Markets platform
Calculation of portfolio level performance and assistance in model portfolio construction
Calculations include but are not limited to, IRR, MOIC, DPI, TVPI, time-weighted rates of return and time series calculations
Analytics and attribution analysis as it relates to all metrics in question
Work closely with various investment teams, marketing and senior leadership on performance reporting ad-hoc analysis
Work closely with accounting/finance teams to validate cash flow inputs to performance models, review calculation methodologies, and ensure alignment with industry standards and internal performance reporting practices
Work closely with marketing team members to provide performance details for RFPs
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
3+ years accounting/finance/valuation experience; CIPM, CPA and/or CFA a plus, but not required
Technical understanding of aforementioned metrics
Familiarity with multiple fund structures and calculations, including closed-end drawdown funds and evergreen structures
Strong understanding of accounting theory and fund accounting and financial reporting
Practical understanding of asset class and markets including private equity, private credit and other bespoke transactions
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
Highly detail oriented and organized in work
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
Ability to act and operate independently, entrepreneurial mindset
High degree of proficiency in Excel

The salary range for this role is $100,000-$130,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package.
