Position Overview

Paid search is one of Yahoo's highest-intent and most measurable acquisition channels. As Performance Marketing Manager, Search, you will own the strategy and execution of Yahoo's SEM programs across leading search advertising platforms and emerging search surfaces. You are a hands-on practitioner with deep platform expertise, a strong analytical mindset, and a bias for experimentation. You will run a disciplined test-and-learn program, collaborate closely with Data Science to build custom bidding and measurement models, and be an early adopter of AI-native search features that help Yahoo grow efficiently at scale.

What You'll Do

  • Own end-to-end SEM strategy and execution across Yahoo's consumer products, including keyword strategy, bid management, ad copy, landing page optimization, audience layering, and budget pacing.

  • Drive rigorous daily, weekly, and quarterly performance analysis across ROAS, CPA, CTR, CVR, impression share, and Quality Score. Diagnose root causes and act on findings quickly.

  • Design and execute controlled A/B experiments across ad creative, landing page variants, bid strategies, keyword match types, and audience segments to continuously improve efficiency.

  • Leverage automated bidding, Performance Max, smart campaigns, and other AI-driven platform features to scale reach and reduce manual campaign management.

  • Collaborate with the Data Science team to build custom bidding models, attribution signals, and incrementality tests that measure the true ROI of search investment and sharpen targeting.

  • Partner with the agentic growth tooling team to automate routine campaign management tasks, freeing capacity for higher-order strategic optimization.

  • Maintain active relationships with key search platform account teams to stay ahead of algorithm changes, access beta programs, and negotiate co-investment opportunities.

  • Monitor competitive keyword dynamics and auction pressure, developing proactive strategies to defend share and identify under-exploited search categories.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of hands-on SEM management with direct experience managing significant annual paid search budgets.

  • Deep platform expertise across leading search advertising platforms, including Smart Bidding, Performance Max, DSAs, and audience targeting features.

  • Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets. SQL is preferred, along with experience using ad platform reporting and business intelligence (BI) tools.

  • Experience designing and interpreting A/B experiments with statistical discipline, along with an understanding of incrementality testing and attribution models.

  • Solid grasp of search auction mechanics, Quality Score, Ad Rank, and the relationship between organic and paid search performance.

  • Clear, concise communication skills with the ability to translate campaign performance data into actionable insights for senior stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Apple Search Ads at scale, particularly for consumer app acquisition.

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted search campaign tools, automated creative generation, or agentic bid management platforms.

  • Google Ads and/or Microsoft Advertising advertising certification.

The compensation for this position ranges from $82,125.00 - $171,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
