We are seeking a PeopleSoft HCM Technical-Functional Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will have an interest in developing both technical and functional expertise in PeopleSoft HCM modules. This role will support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of HCM applications while working closely with HR and IT teams to improve system functionality and deliver solutions that meet business needs. The Challenge:
- Assist with the design, development, testing, and implementation of customizations and enhancements for PeopleSoft HCM modules.
- Work with functional and technical teams to understand business requirements and support the development of technical solutions.
- Participate in testing, troubleshooting, and debugging PeopleSoft applications to ensure quality and performance.
- Support the maintenance of existing PeopleSoft HCM applications, including assisting with patches, updates, and system enhancements.
- Document system configurations, modifications, and technical processes.
- Provide user support and assist with creating training materials and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements within the HCM system.
- Learn and apply PeopleSoft HCM best practices while contributing to team initiatives.
- Participate in project planning and implementation activities, including annual PUM upgrade testing and deployment support.
- Assist with application performance monitoring and optimization efforts.
- Participate in an on-call rotation, including occasional weekend support.
What Sets You Apart (Basic Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree with 0–2 years of relevant experience. Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Exposure to or coursework involving enterprise applications, HR systems, or ERP technologies.
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft HCM modules (such as Core HR, Payroll, or Benefits) through professional experience, internships, academic projects, or training is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of PeopleTools, PeopleCode, Application Designer, or a willingness to learn.
- Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases (Oracle preferred).
- Familiarity with Application Engine, SQR, Integration Broker, or BI Publisher is a plus.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle concepts, testing, and debugging techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly, manage multiple tasks, and work collaboratively in a team environment.
You Might Also Have:
- Internship, co-op, or academic project experience supporting ERP or HR systems.
- Experience or coursework in PeopleSoft, Oracle, or other enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Exposure to PeopleSoft upgrades or maintenance activities.
- Experience with Linux or Windows operating systems.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow or other IT service management tools.
- Public sector or utility industry experience through internships, coursework, or previous employment.
