Team Bitwarden is fully distributed with team members around the world. As People Ops Lead you will play a central role in creating a productive and supportive work environment for all Bitwarden team members. We will look to you for managing and improving HRIS systems and programs currently in place, managing and supporting other PeopleOps team members, and of course supporting all Bitwarden team members across the globe as we go through our next phase of growth. You will report directly to the CEO.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement People Ops strategies aligned with our mission and vision, and work closely with the CEO and executive team to drive organizational success.
  • Oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation, and offboarding.
  • Foster a culture that creates engagement, belonging, learning, and high performance.
  • Coach, advise, give feedback, and help set priorities for the People team.
  • Work alongside our recruiting manager on talent forecasting, capacity planning, and hiring metrics to ensure we are meeting our company goals.
  • Partner with department leaders and managers to support engagement and performance initiatives, map out career progression opportunities, facilitate difficult conversations, and promote a culture of continuous feedback.   
  • Champion, operationalize, and reinforce our GRIT values throughout the organization.
  • Manage an annual program of team building activities, workshops, and learning opportunities.
  • Handle employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance processes.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on people-related matters and contribute to strategic decision-making processes.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations and maintain policies and procedures.

WHAT YOU BRING TO BITWARDEN

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives that drive employee engagement, development, and retention.
  • Ability to act as a player / coach — collaborating and contributing alongside a small team.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business goals into People initiatives and programs.
  • Experience in: organizational development, recruiting & hiring, compensation & benefits, employee engagement, employee development, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion, and performance assessment and support systems.
  • Clear and compelling written & verbal communication.
  • Experience working in or with distributed, rapid-growth companies, ideally transitioning from about 200 to 500+ employees.

In the United States, the starting base compensation range for this role is $130,000-$165,000. Actual compensation may vary based on level, relevant experience, and skill set as assessed in the interview process, as well as market data by location. See our careers page for a list of benefits. Please note that compensation outside the US will differ based on the market.
