The Opportunity

Roche Diagnostics Quality, Regulatory & External Affairs (QR&E) is a fully global organization of approximately 1,500 employees present across 18 countries. This organization is engaged across the entire diagnostic value chain - ensuring our right to operate, shaping the global regulatory environment, and accelerating access to our diagnostic solutions for customers and patients worldwide.

As the P&C Business Partner for QR&E, you will be based in the USA but possess a deeply global mindset. This role is designed for an HR professional who is energized by engaging and supporting diverse, global teams and who wants to expand their expertise by learning how P&C and employment landscapes operate in other countries. You will serve as a strategic partner to senior leaders located both inside and outside the USA, navigating a complex matrix organization to translate business priorities into impactful global people strategies. 

You will be an active member of a dedicated, international team of P&C Business Partners. Together, you will collaborate closely across borders and time zones to share insights, align initiatives, and provide seamless, unified support to the global QR&E organization. 

As a trusted strategic partner and coach, you will be accountable for fostering the Roche leadership framework, enhancing international organizational design and effectiveness, and ensuring future talent and capability readiness across regions. 

Business Acumen

  • Aligns P&C strategy, goals, and objectives to overall business strategies and objectives, translates P&C strategies to drive key business results; provides guidance on talent management, workforce strategies, organization design and reward and recognition in partnership with Business Partners, other P&C Chapters and subject-matter experts to develop high quality solutions

  • Maintains broad-based knowledge of multiple leadership areas across the organization and its operations; uses knowledge of business and P&C insights, metrics, expertise, and decision principles to effectively diagnose topics with a wide range of complexity

  • Recommends business practice/work process improvements to identify opportunities for leveraging human capital; ensures P&C initiatives adds organizational value

  • Maintains knowledge of external environment and other related information on peer and comparison groups to effectively diagnose and implement strategies to help drive business decisions 

Leadership

  • Strategic sparring partner and coach for fostering a leadership culture in line with the Roche leadership framework

  • Translates the business vision, mission, and strategy along with the 10 year ambition and P&C Aspirational Goals into projects and initiatives with milestones and delivery schedules; leads or participates in Work Product Teams and squads to effectively meet planned objectives; develops clear  action plans with results-oriented goals for measuring success; drives alignment and buy-in within multiple leadership areas as part of a network

  • Diagnoses P&C needs and identifies interventions that address issues of retention, change leadership, employee engagement, and leadership development, partnering with Business Partners, Work Product Teams, squads and other P&C Chapters as appropriate; uses appropriate tools for leadership competency and skills assessment

  • Drives and implements change with proven ability to influence business leaders and P&C professionals to required outcomes

  • Influences, develops, mentors and provides leadership to networks and work product team/squads in partnership with Advisory Business Partners  

Strategic P&C Insights & Innovation

  • Gathers and analyzes internal and external data, evidence-based research, benchmarks, P&C and business metrics to make critical decisions; shares insights with leaders and recommends innovative solutions based on the P&C decision principles that support the culture, strategic direction and resources

  • Diagnoses root causes of work environment issues, disruptive team dynamics and ineffective organizational setups; initiates interventions and shapes solutions in collaboration and co-creation with key stakeholders across multiple leadership areas

Who You Are

  • 10+ years of broad and progressive HR experience in or with organizations recognized for best HR practices

  • Experience working in a Diagnostics or Pharmaceuticals organization and/or international matrix structures is preferred 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources (or related field) preferred, and/or equivalent work experience. Advanced degree preferred

  • Based in the USA with a proven track record of working successfully with global teams and senior leaders outside the US.

  • A collaborative team player who thrives in a peer network of international P&C colleagues, actively contributing to and learning from a global team dynamic.

  • Demonstrated experience navigating complex, matrixed corporate structures where influencing without formal authority is key.

  • A strong curiosity and eagerness to learn about international HR practices, global labor landscapes, and cross-cultural team dynamics.

  • Ability to influence with courageous authenticity and build trust with individuals at all levels within the organization, challenging the status quo when appropriate

  • Effectively diagnosing long term P&C needs, and shaping and leading initiatives to address them

  • Ability to travel [domestically/globally] as required by the business

This position is on site in Branchburg or Indianapolis. A remote option is not available.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of New Jersey is $139,000 to $258,200. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
