We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Tax Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting payroll reporting audits, ensuring tax compliance, and possessing extensive knowledge of tax regulations across different states in the US. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our payroll processes and execution. In this role you will report to the North America Senior Payroll Manager.
What You Will Be Doing:

You will perform regular internal payroll audits to verify the accuracy of payroll data (input and results) and adherence to company policies and legal requirements.

You will maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and ensure compliance.

You will research, understand and interpret existing or revised tax codes, laws, or forms and suggest responses to changes in tax law, regulations, and guidelines.

You will relentlessly review payroll tax processes to identify opportunities for improvement and automation to ensure efficient and compliant tax handling.

You will assist in review, development and implementation of changes or new payroll policies and procedures leading to best practices and solutions.

You will coordinate the implementation of the necessary changes with the internal HR technology team and the external vendors.

You will collaborate with other the various internal stakeholders and departments on enterprise projects.

You will work with vendors to research and resolve complex tax issues or discrepancies.

You will offer guidance and direction on tax topics to the immediate team members or broader HR department.

You will assist with tax agency audits.

You will reconcile quarterly and annual tax filings, including W-2 data.
What You Need To Succeed:
-
Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll processing and tax compliance.

Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.

Canada payroll tax regulations knowledge is a plus.

Bachelor's degree in HR, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Proficiency in using Workday as the payroll system.

Experience with other systems, such as ADP, Experian/CIC+ or similar platforms is a plus

Proficient in Excel (i.e., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and other formulas)

Strong analytical, attention to detail, customer service, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-volume environment

Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.

Certifications such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) are a plus.
