Job Summary
This position will be responsible for processing weekly and bi-weekly payroll, ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings and deductions. As a specialist, you'll work as part of a team helping to solve complex payroll issues.
Job Responsibilities
- Makes sure the payroll is processed and paid timely and accurately according to stablished payment dates along with accordance with company guidelines.
- Maintain accuracy of all payroll information by applying necessary controls and approvals.
- Analyze attendance data.
- Manage leave paid time off and deductions.
- Understand and verify tax calculations.
- Understand and administer garnishment processing.
- Communicate status/progress/future action items or recommendations to immediate supervisor.
- Resolve employee queries about payroll and policies related with earnings and deductions ensuring prompt and accurate responses to inquiries, this includes actively listening to employees, validating their concerns, and offering empathetic and tailored explanations, utilize either a ticketing system or in-person communication, or a combination of both.
Technical Skills:
- Accounting and internal controls knowledge and experience.
- Strong technical understanding of Labor law, taxes, benefits and Social Security.
- Knowledge of general ledger to support accounting inquiries and resolve reconciling items related to payroll.
- Managed a payroll of more than 1500 employees is desirable.
- Experience with unionized employees.
Soft Skills:
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong client support, resulting in a positive employee experience.
Qualifications & Experience
- Years of Experience: 2-3 years of Payroll activities.
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Languages: Upper intermediate or Advanced English
- Travel: local travel CDMX to Toluca and viceversa.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with People Soft, Kronos, Workday and SAP desirable.
