DNV is seeking a Payroll Specialist, you’ll play an important role in our GSS HR payroll team, making sure payroll processes run smoothly and accurately across North America. Your keen attention to detail will be essential as you review payroll records, spot inconsistencies, and confirm all transactions are completed correctly and on schedule. By verifying information carefully, you’ll help prevent mistakes and keep our payroll operations reliable.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with various departments, including HR and Finance, to streamline payroll operations and resolve any discrepancies that may arise. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll policies and procedures, ensuring that they align with the latest regulations and best practices.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and other stakeholders.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations and best practices.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll data.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures.
  • Analyze payroll data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of all payroll-related information.


This role is based at our DNV office in Houston, TX and operates under a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote).The position is initially temporary, with the potential to convert to a permanent role. Further details regarding role-specific requirements will be shared during the interview process.

Qualifications

What is Required

  • 5+ years payroll experience
  • Experience managing payroll for 600+ employees
  • Working knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations, tax requirements, and compliance
  • Proficiency with HRIS, payroll, and other enterprise-level systems
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Formulas)
  • Resourceful, adaptable and collaborative team player
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills 
  • We conduct pre-employment drug and background screening

What is Preferred 

  • BA/BS in Accounting/Finance
  • Knowledge of ADP WFN and Oracle products
  • Canadian payroll experience
  • Experience with multi-entity payroll
