About this opportunity:
We are now looking for a Payroll Lead to perform HR Delivery tasks according to standard processes/procedures related to payroll for Hungary! Our payroll services are outsourced, but you will, together with the team, be the main contact towards the payroll vendor and make sure processes are followed and securing a good data quality. You will act as the internal payroll owner, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and seamless coordination between stakeholders.
Your responsibility will be to review and validate payroll outputs, oversee data accuracy, ensure compliance with local labor law and tax regulations, and maintain strong internal controls. Beyond operational oversight, you will play a critical role in governance, reporting, reconciliations, and audit support. You will monitor service quality, manage vendor performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll processes and system efficiency.
This position requires strong local payroll expertise combined with a proactive, detail-oriented mindset. Your role will ensure that even with outsourced payroll calculations, the company maintains full visibility, accountability, and compliance internally.
What you will do:
- Responsible for managing and building the daily payroll activities in Hungary in high quality and according to Ericsson's standards
- Partner with internal (e.g. Global Payroll teams, Global People functions, Business Partnering, Finance) and external stakeholders
- Work and collaborate with external payroll providers, ensuring accurate payroll operation
- Acts as the escalation point in resolving complex, outstanding issues with internal and external payroll partners
- Participate in payroll projects and collaborate with the Global Payroll team
- Assess efficiency and effectiveness of crucial payroll operational processes and identify improvements required
- As an expert in the payroll area, collaborate with other payroll-responsible stakeholders on different levels to improve the quality and efficiency of the payroll area managed
- Responsible for managing the internal audits on-site or remotely, executing and implementing the recommendations and observation in all countries under responsibility
- Coordinate, prepare and secure that the payroll input consist of high quality
- Support employees and managers in payroll related matters
- Perform analysis, identify, suggest and drive improvements on processes and tools
- Manage agreed local vendors
- Provide payroll-related accounting support (reconciliations, journal entries, accruals)
You will bring:
- Demonstrated ability: SAP, process knowledge, good knowledge of digitalization and good administrative skills
- A Bachelor's degree, preferably within Human Resources, finance, or proven experience within required area
- A minimum of 3-5 years' experience
- Knowledge about Hungarian legislation and payroll activities.
- Good communication Skill. Proficiency with Hungarian and English Language, analytical learning and researching skills, be proactive, self-motivated, work independently and be customer orientated.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
