Purpose and Job Summary:
ORIX Corporation USA is seeking a Payroll Tax Analyst for the Human Resources team in Dallas, Texas. The Payroll Tax Analyst provides proactive, in-depth knowledge and expertise related to all aspects of US payroll tax including compliance, reporting, analysis, research, reconciliation, testing, process improvement and the development of proper controls to ensure the accuracy, timeliness and regulatory compliance of all payroll tax activities using discretion and independent judgment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of all tax Monthly, Quarterly and Annual government filings, amendments and reporting including the creation and distribution of US W-2’s and W-2C’s
- Analysis, review & reconciliation of all aspects of payroll governance & compliance to include tax (federal, state, local, payroll taxes, multi-state taxation), garnishments, levies, benefit deductions, W2 preparation and other miscellaneous payroll processes
- Accountable for verifying and updating federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and tax rates to ensure an accurate and compliant payroll system
- Ensure all payroll tax activities are processed timely, accurately and in compliance with all federal, multi-state, and local tax regulations and FLSA labor laws
- Process wage and tax adjustments for state income tax withholding, state unemployment, federal withholding, FICA, locals, etc
- Investigate, analyze, and respond timely and accurately to tax inquiries, agency notices and audits from both internal customers and external agencies
- Assists with various tax related payroll projects, system testing and implementations
- Develops and maintains process documentation (e.g. standard operating procedures, desktop procedures and job aids) to ensure a complete, accurate, and up-to-date depiction of tax processes
- Registration of new tax accounts, closing tax accounts and management of Power of Attorney (POA) and Third-Party Administrator (TPA) assignments
- Work with the business to ensure employees working/traveling between states are compliant from a tax reporting perspective (including remote workers)
- Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner including special payouts such as incentives, expatriate payments, gross-ups, and other related activities as required
- Partner with Accounting on month-end close reconciliation reports, accruals and payroll journal entries
- Continuously seek ways to improve payroll processes, leveraging Workday’s capabilities and staying up to date on payroll best practices
Education, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology or related business field, or an equivalent amount of relevant work experience
- 3-5 years of experience in US payroll tax including ADP Tax Services and Workday Payroll
- Must have multi-state payroll tax experience
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Demonstrated success working with cross functional partners in a business environment
- Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide deliverables timely
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and proactively communicate with manager and key business partners
- Payroll system implementation and testing experience a plus
Preferred:
- Experience with ADP Tax Services and Workday Payroll
- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional certification (CPP)
- Experience handling expatriate payroll
