Position Overview
This position is responsible for the end to end process of the weekly and/or biweekly payrolls. The Payroll Administrator will assist with performing a wide variety of record keeping activities, including but not limited to short-term disability, leave administration, 401K administration, maintaining the payroll mailbox, and employment verification. The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for resolving pay discrepancies and ensuring the highest level of customer service is delivered to both internal and external customers.
Location: This position follows a hybrid schedule requiring 4 days in-office at our Whippany, NJ location and 1 day remote.
Key Accountabilities
- Daily payroll processing activities including but not limited to sorting mail, handling incoming emails to the department email, working payroll help desk tickets, processing terminations and off cycle payments
- Process disability files, leave administration, garnishments, wage verifications, LMAs, EJAs.
- Work in conjunction with the Kronos team for integration and validation of timesheets
- Responsible for HDL file loads of data to be included in the payrolls
- Process weekly and/or biweekly payrolls, monthly payrolls, and commissions.
- Transmit and verify direct deposits
- Process off-cycle checks as required
- Research any direct deposit issues and communicate with employees as needed.
- Process 401k and payroll wires
- Timely analysis of payroll data to ensure accuracy
- Answer basic Self Service questions (i.e. how to’s for W4 set up, direct deposit set up)
- Complete research and communicate with department managers regarding employee inquiries, as well as effectively collaborate and communicate with colleagues, employees and other stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of payroll experience
- Proficiency in payroll processing systems and Microsoft Office products
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good analytical skills
- Ability to have a flexible work schedule
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Experience with Oracle HCM Payroll systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Four-year college degree in Accounting or Business related field
- Proficient in payroll systems
- Ability to analyze system related discrepancies
- Familiarity with an on-line Time and Attendance System (Kronos)
- Experience with Canada payroll and ADP WorkForceNow
The hiring range for this position ranges from $27.88 - $34.00 per hour. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates' relevant skills and experience.
