Job Description

The Paymaster/Plant HR Generalist will assist in the execution of staffing, payroll, performance management, employee development, training and succession planning.  This hands-on position is responsible for driving the implementation of HR processes and initiatives.

What You'll Do

As the Paymaster/Plant HR Generalist, you'll partner closely with plant leadership and employees to deliver exceptional HR support while helping create a positive, engaging, and high-performing workplace.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Process and support hourly payroll activities with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and leaders across the plant.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and employee development initiatives.
  • Administer employee benefits programs and answer employee questions.
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation while ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Coordinate employee engagement programs, recognition efforts, and plant-wide communication initiatives.
  • Assist with performance management, training, and talent development activities.
  • Support employee and labor relations efforts, including working in a unionized environment when applicable.
  • Partner with plant leadership to address workforce needs and drive a positive employee experience.
  • Maintain a regular presence on the manufacturing floor to build relationships, support employees, and stay connected to plant operations.
  • Assist with HR projects and initiatives that support business objectives and continuous improvement.

This position will report directly to the Plant HR Manager

Qualifications

 

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in Accounting, Business or Human Resources is preferred
  • Must have experience in payroll administration in a fast-paced environment, ideally within manufacturing
  • Prefer someone with previous Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment with modern HR processes
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Knowledge of Ceridian DayForce and SAP are a plus

What we offer at O-I:

Salary Range:  The expected salary range for this position is between $70,000 - $80,000 and includes a possible 12% short-term incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Skills Required
