What you get to do:
- Enthusiastically represents Busch Gardens by displaying a positive attitude and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job.
- Initiate interactions with guests to proactively provide animal and park information.
- Conduct informative and engaging animal presentations on microphone at animal habitats and interpret veterinary procedures in real-time
- Organize, inventory, and prepare materials for educational experiences.
- Facilitate tours of the Animal Care Center and promote educational tour experiences.
- Ensures safety of guests at animal exhibits and behind the scenes.
- Maintain professional quality standards with guest interactions in times of high stress.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors, and our Guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What it takes to succeed:
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid Driver’s License
- Working towards a degree or have a degree in Education, Animal Science, Psychology, Zoology or related field preferred but not necessary
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills
- Ability to provide outstanding guest service
- Ability to work up to 28 hours a week
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekday and weekend shifts, evenings, and holidays
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment: high heat, humidity, cold, etc.
What else is important:
- Able to push, pull, lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- This position requires walking, standing, bending, and overhead reaching
- Ability to work individually and/or within a team setting
- Ability to practice proper time management when given multiple tasks
- Perform cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals
- Basic computer knowledge
- Experience working at a veterinary facility is preferred but not required
- Prior guest/customer service experience preferred
