RequirementsPartnerships & Business Development Executive – Australia

We are seeking a high-growth Partnerships & Business Development Executive – Australia who is inspired by our mission and ready to aggressively own our core strategic acquisition outcomes over the next 6–12 months. In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the AU Country Manager/Co-founder and serve as the driving force behind our outbound market expansion.

Mission

Accelerate Sleek’s market share in Australia by hunting, negotiating, and closing high-impact strategic partnerships. In this pure-play outbound acquisition role, you will focus relentlessly on the top of the funnel—identifying, pitching, and securing new high-performing alliances and distribution channels that yield immediate, scalable customer acquisition.

Key Outcomes
  • Pipeline Generation & Hunting: Build, manage, and aggressively convert a high-velocity pipeline of prospective partners across Fintech, eCommerce, and tech ecosystems to drive net-new customer acquisition.
  • Acquisition & Deal Closing: Source and sign strategic partners capable of delivering a minimum of 15 new customers/month within the first 3 months, scaling rapidly to 60+ new customers/month by month 12.
  • Commercial Negotiation: Structure, negotiate, and execute commercially viable partnership agreements that maximize Sleek’s revenue contribution and market penetration.
  • Go-to-Market Execution: Collaborate with internal sales and marketing teams to quickly activate newly signed partners, ensuring immediate velocity, performance tracking, and ROI on new alliances.
Role Requirements
  • 3+ years of hunter-profile experience in SMB business development, corporate sales, or outbound partnerships within a fast-paced Fintech, SaaS, or tech startup environment.
  • Proven track record of quota carrying or consistently hitting aggressive targets for net-new partner acquisition and revenue generation.
  • Deep acquisition-based experience unlocking SMB or mid-market customer segments through channels, alliances, and indirect distribution models.
  • An active, established rolodex of contacts across Australia’s SME hubs, accelerators, local Fintech circles, and eCommerce networks to leverage on Day 1.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to pitch complex value propositions, handle objections, and close deals autonomously. A pre-existing network extending across the wider ANZ region is highly preferred.

Behavioural fit is also important at Sleek, and we will be looking for candidates who have a proven track record of embodying the following attributes in their recent roles:

Ownership: This shows reliability and helps build trust within the team. We move fast and need to know that everyone will see things through to completion and proactively help to get things back on track when challenges arise. Accountability is really important to us.

Humility: There is so much we don’t know. Humility allows for open-mindedness to feedback and a willingness to learn from others. It paves the way for collaboration and creates a positive work environment. It is a key ingredient of self-awareness and emotional intelligence.

Structured Thinking: Our business is complex with many layers (many services, many countries, many cultures). Regardless of whether you’re more analytical or creative in nature, being able to show sound judgement is important to us. It ensures solutions are pragmatic and balance the needs of the organisation, team and customers.

Data-driven: We are a data-rich business with 15,000+ small business customers.  Each decision we make can impact many more people than we realise, so it’s critical that we use sound data to support our strategies and review the success of our initiatives.

Can have tough conversations in a positive way: It’s not a matter of if, but when difficult interpersonal situations arise.  Disagreement, conflict and disappointment are a given in a fast-moving business where people care about their work.  People who proactively have tough conversations with kindness build empathy, trust and great working relationships.
