Job Title:Package Engineer-Production

Summary:1. Ensure safe, reliable and efficient packaging operations through engineering support and continuous improvement initiatives.
2. Lead packaging readiness and industrialization activities for new product introductions and process transfers.
3. Drive automation, MES and smart manufacturing projects to enhance operational efficiency, traceability and data visibility.
4. Deliver sustainable improvements in SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost) performance through lean and data-driven methodologies

Responsibilities Include:

1. Packaging Process & Operations Management

(1)Establish, maintain and continuously optimize packaging processes to ensure safe, stable and efficient packaging operations.

(2)Monitor and control packaging process quality, continuously improving productivity, yield and cost performance.

(3)Develop and maintain packaging standards, SOPs and error-proofing (Poka-Yoke) mechanisms to ensure process consistency and product quality. (4)Manage packaging equipment performance and support EHS improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and operational stability.

2. Product Identification, Labeling & Traceability Management

(1) Establish and maintain product identification, labeling and batch traceability systems.

(2) Ensure labeling content and traceability information comply with customer requirements, regulatory requirements and quality management standards.

(3) Implement and maintain a closed-loop label management process to minimize risks of mislabeling, missing labels and material mix-ups.

(4) Drive digitalization initiatives for labeling and traceability systems to achieve end-to-end product traceability.

3. New Product Introduction (NPI), Validation & Change Management

(1) Lead packaging process implementation, validation and commercialization activities for new product introductions.

(2)Facilitate packaging design reviews, risk assessments and process validation activities.

(3) Develop and maintain packaging validation documentation and technical standards. Lead change management activities related to equipment, processes, packaging materials, labels and systems.

(4) Apply risk management tools such as PFMEA to enhance process robustness and compliance.

4. Digitalization & Automation

(1)Drive MES implementation and digitalization of packaging processes and workflows.

(2) Establish data collection, monitoring and analytics systems to improve process visibility and operational efficiency.

(3) Plan and execute packaging automation and smart manufacturing projects to improve productivity and process consistency.

5. Packaging Material Management

(1) Manage the quality, reliability and compatibility of packaging materials.

(2) Drive packaging material standardization, cost optimization and inventory improvement initiatives.

(3)Collaborate with suppliers to investigate packaging material issues and implement continuous improvement actions.

(4)Ensure packaging materials comply with quality, regulatory and customer requirements.

6. Continuous Improvement & Project Management

(1)Lead packaging-related continuous improvement initiatives to enhance Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Productivity (SQDCP) performance.

(2) Utilize Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and data-driven methodologies to identify and implement improvement opportunities.

(3) Lead or participate in CAPEX projects, including planning, implementation and final acceptance.

(4) Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for package operational issues and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented.

7. Training, Compliance & Cross-Functional Collaboration

(1)Provide packaging-related technical training and support employee capability development.

(2) Ensure packaging activities comply with EHS requirements, quality management systems and customer-specific requirements.

(3)Support customer audits, certification audits and other compliance-related activities.

(4)Collaborate with Production, Quality, R&D, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Automation and IT teams to drive project execution and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

Core Competencies

Strong hands-on problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to independently drive packaging process optimization and operational improvement initiatives

Education

1. Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering or a related technical discipline.

2. Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or other relevant fields.

3. Basic English communication skills with the ability to participate in routine technical discussions and read technical documentation.

Work Experience

1. Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or related technical functions within a manufacturing environment.

2. Experience in packaging engineering, process engineering, production engineering, or manufacturing operations is preferred.

Technical Competencies

1. Good knowledge of packaging process development, optimization and standardization.

2. Familiarity with SOP development and manufacturing process control.

3. Strong capability in quality problem solving and process improvement.

4. Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements.

5. Familiarity with problem-solving methodologies and continuous improvement tools, such as Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5 Whys and Fishbone Analysis.

6. Understanding of MES, ERP and other manufacturing information systems.

7. Basic knowledge of automation equipment and industrial digitalization concepts.
