Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on HR Supervisor to support client’s operations in Dar es Salaam. The HR Supervisor will oversee day-to-day HR activities, coordinate workforce requirements, and ensure effective management of both skilled and unskilled employees across the project.
The ideal candidate should have previous experience working in engineering, construction, telecommunications, or project-based environments, with strong workforce coordination and employee management skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate and supervise day-to-day HR activities for the project workforce.
• Support manpower planning and ensure adequate staffing levels according to project requirements.
• Coordinate recruitment, selection, onboarding and deployment of project employees.
• Maintain a reliable pool of candidates to facilitate quick staff replacements when required.
• Oversee attendance, leave, employee records and other HR documentation.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers and client to identify workforce requirements.
• Handle employee relations, grievances, disciplinary matters and workplace concerns.
• Ensure compliance with company HR policies and applicable Tanzanian labour laws.
• Coordinate employee induction and orientation.
• Support implementation of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) requirements in collaboration with the HSE team.
• Monitor employee attendance, discipline and workforce productivity.
• Prepare regular HR and manpower reports for project management.
• Support staff welfare and maintain positive employee relations.
• Address urgent workforce and employee-related issues promptly.
Qualifications & Experience
• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of HR experience, preferably in construction, engineering, telecommunications or other project-based environments.
• Previous experience working on engineering or construction projects is highly preferred.
• Proven ability to manage both skilled and unskilled workers.
• Experience in recruitment and quick staff replacement/mobilization.
• HSE qualification/certification will be an added advantage.
• Good understanding of Tanzanian labour laws and HR practices.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and coordination skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple HR priorities.
• Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office
