Summary
 
Outside Sales Representative, responsible for selling Health Insurance products in South Carolina.  Responsible for new sales, renewal of existing members, and providing service as needed.  Product Portfolio for group and individual consumers include ACA Plans and Medicare for eligible consumers.  Production quotas within an assigned territory.

Location: This position is full-time (40-hours/week) Monday-Friday in a typical office environment. You will work an 8-hour shift scheduled during our normal business hours of 8:00AM-5:00PM. It may be necessary, given the business need to work occasional overtime. You may be required to travel between buildings. This role is located at Woodruff Road Suite A105 Greenville, SC 29607.

What You Will Do:

  • Develops and executes marketing plans for new sales and/or retention of existing accounts within assigned territory. Prepares and presents proposals and communications to groups, agents, and/or individuals.
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with groups, agents, and/or individuals. Assesses agency, agent, group, and/or individual sales opportunities and works with groups, agent, and/or individuals to resolve problem issues.
  • Conducts on-going market research and provides key information that may lead to sales. Prepares and submits required marketing reports to management detailing how best to position company products.
  • Maintains product/industry knowledge and marketing skills by attending trading seminars, continuing education classes, conferences, etc.

To Qualify for This Position, You Will Need:

  • Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Required Work Experience: 1-year sales and marketing.
  • Required Skills and Abilities: Ability to develop/maintain effective relationships with groups, agents, and potential customers. Knowledge of marketing principles, techniques, and the marketplace. Effective presentation and customer service skills. Analytical or critical thinking skills. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Effective organizational skills. Ability to persuade, negotiate, or influence others. Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
  • Required Software and Tools: Microsoft Office.
  • Required License and Certificate: Department of Insurance Licensure must be obtained within 60 days of hire in state employed.

We Prefer That You Have the Following:

  • Preferred Experience: Three years previous outside sales experience including customer service.
  • Active Department of Insurance License in Health, Life, and Accident
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, or other spreadsheet/database software.
