We are looking for a passionate and driven risk leader with proven expertise in managing multi-dimensional risk programs to deliver data driven insights that balance risk management and compliance concerns with supporting business growth and innovation. In this role you will lead a team charged with risk management for all of Greenlight's product lines. Working in close collaboration with product and engineering as well as other partners internal and external, you will be responsible for designing and ensuring the future of Greenlight’s evolving risk and compliance programs, designing and delivering best-in-class solutions to measure, track, and mitigate risk in order to accelerate Greenlight’s mission to shine a light on the world of money for kids and parents. This vital and visible role requires, and we value, strong ownership, intellectual flexibility, and sound and data driven business judgement.

What you will be doing:

  • Design and deliver on a constantly evolving risk management roadmap that will derisk our exposure to fraud and credit losses while minimizing customer friction for our chosen level of risk working across product, engineering, operations and all parts of the business, using both internal resources and third party tools and systems.
  • Leverage deep subject matter expertise in various facets of risk management, including but not limited to, consumer credit risk, fraud, regulatory and operational to counsel senior management and stakeholders across the company to prevent future fraud and mitigate future credit losses both for new initiatives and existing business lines.
  • Design and deliver risk assessment and mitigation strategies to deliver actionable intelligence on emerging risks and new product initiatives. Proactively engage with business leaders to provide counsel and influence product design.
  • Design and implement insightful and actionable reporting and systems to ensure that we are surfacing our fraud and credit risk exposure in a real time manner and use those systems to make real time adjustments to mitigate loss and prevent future losses.
  • Comfortable navigating in an ambiguous environment and solving open ended problems
  • Support special projects and research needs of Greenlight to evaluate Fraud Risk of new products and investments
  • Stay up to date on relevant fraud trends and industry best practices
  • Manage the existing Investigations and Enhanced Due Diligence Teams

What you should bring:

  • 10+ years risk management experience specifically within the financial sector with an emphasis on debit card, account and deposit fraud and consumer credit risk management
  • Broad understanding of the financial industry’s competitive landscape and what industry standard is for mitigating fraud and credit risk
  • Strong ability to define success metrics for fraud and credit risk
  • Familiar with various fraud and credit risk mitigating strategies for any given problem in the banking industry
  • Experience building risk management policies and monitoring performance throughout the organization
  • Able to adapt to an ambiguous working environment with a focus on taking an abstract situation and moving it towards actionable work
  • Experience managing operational teams and meeting SLAs
