The Role

Performance & Education specialists at Nations Benefits are highly visible, valued members of the organization. Responsible for the overall performance and development of each employee, P&E specialists assess the needs and deliver exceptional training of “program specific” content during onboarding of new hires. P&E specialists also provide ongoing, professional development training and growth opportunities for current staff. With expert learning and development theory, the P&E specialists are responsible for crafting training and development initiatives through expert knowledge, surveys, internal research, or consultations with managers and stakeholders within each department.

The P&E specialist is an expert at identifying needs, organizing, and delivering training sessions using lectures, group discussions, team exercises, hands-on, and other formats. In addition, the P&E can also facilitate training in the form of a video, self-guided instructional manuals, thru online applications in both 1 to 1 and collaborative learning settings. Our top specialists are flexible, quick thinkers who work well in, and prefer a fast paced, constantly evolving work environment.

P&E duties include but not limited to; help create, administer, and deliver training programs for Nations Benefits. Trainers assess the needs of the organization and assist in the development of custom training programs that take place in classrooms, training facilities, online or blended.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Deliver exceptional training and development (coursework, presentations, workshops) to employees/new hires using a variety of instructional techniques
  • Assist in the design and creation training manuals, online learning modules, and course materials
  • Review training materials from a variety of sources and choose appropriate materials
  • Assist in the evaluation of training programs
  • Perform administrative tasks such, scheduling classes, setting up systems and equipment, and coordinating enrollment
  • Requires travel to other sites (30%)
  • Required Skills/Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods
  • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives
  • Ability to implement effective training and development.
  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software
  • Host virtual and in-person onboarding, with some presentation and facilitation
  • Maintains paper and electronic training attendance records and assessment scores, if applicable
  • Contacts attendees and department representatives about training programs as directed
  • Sets up audiovisual equipment and co-facilitates training when necessary
  • Regularly report on training metrics
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Exceptional follow-up and follow-through
  • Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to show initiative and to be self-motivated, innovative, and an independent thinker
  • Be a team player

Work Experience

  • (3-5) years of experience as a training coordinator or specialist, with specific experience delivering training, supporting logistics and supporting LMS or knowledge management platforms

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Training and Development, or a related field required.
  • Will also consider, combination of relatable experience from previous positions
  • At least two years of direct training experience required

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing and working on a computer
