The Senior Environmental Health and Safety and Sustainability Manager for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for helping drive operational sustainability across our global network of sites as well as provide technical expertise around EHS compliance assurance programs as part of a corporate team to help manage EHS risk, ensure regulatory compliance and improve safety.

This position is part of the Global EHS function, reporting to the Global EHS leader in a remote based position. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Help Drive Operational Sustainability:

  • Lead the global implementation of program initiatives to meet or exceed Danaher 5-year sustainability goals around energy, GHG, and waste reduction.
  • Gather, analyze and monitor site sustainability data, provide trend reports and present recommendations utilizing the required DHR online reporting tools.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding building, energy management, and environmental sustainability systems.
  • Advise, coach, and support facilities, operations, and EHS management teams in identifying, scoping, and implementing energy savings and sustainability improvements using DBS tools and kaizen.
  • Collaborates with other Danaher OpCo energy and environmental sustainability stakeholders and SME's to benchmark what "good" looks like, learn and communicate best practices, and encourage development of standard work to ensure effective daily management of facilities KPI bowlers.
  • Support the Global EHS leader with company-wide efforts developing, implementing & executing the global Dx Platform sustainability strategy in line with Danaher sustainability goals and objectives.
  • Assist with developing and implement sustainability policies, practices, and associated standard work.
  • Serve as a resource to guide sustainability improvement projects with Dx Platform operations that have a direct impact on GHG reduction, energy efficiency, waste reduction, water conservation and Danaher goals.


Compliance Assurance - As part of the corporate EHS team you will also help provide technical expertise to resolve complex technical and regulatory EHS matters as well as help ensure overall compliance assurance through auditing, compliance-related metrics and other EHS program oversight activities.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • BA/BS in Facilities Management, Engineering, Occupational Safety, I/H, Environmental, or related discipline with 14+ years experience, or Masters with 12+ years experience, or PHD with 9+ years experience
  • Professional Engineer, Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred.
  • Proficient in in sustainability initiatives, energy and facilities management
  • Ability to lead and influence across levels and departments in multiple geographies.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30%.


It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Pharmaceutical or Medical device hardware or reagent manufacturing
  • Ability to apply critical thinking, cultivate breakthrough ideas and be able to prioritize.
  • Implementing and managing ISO14001 certification and GHG reduction programs
