About the job
The Red Hat Risk Management team is looking for a Senior Manager to lead the Business Controls team in Raleigh, NC or remotely. In this role, you will add value and improve our operations by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to the monitoring of our risk management, control, and governance processes. As a key risk advisor, you will be leading evaluations and assessments of financial, operational and IT processes that impact both current and future control requirements. You will maintain visibility to control status and track any issues to resolution. As a Senior Manager, you'll need to have the ability to work cross-functionally with IT, business teams, and key stakeholders, using your analytical skills in resolving complex problems and delivering clear recommendations to reduce risk and improve control results. You will report to the senior director of risk management. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Lead a team of business controls managers and analysts, including hiring and developing associates, providing performance feedback, and managing the day-to-day activities to ensure effective work results
  • Maintain and guide adherence to Red Hat's controls framework, including coordination of management reviews and certification process
  • Review control standards and policies established by process owners
  • Proactively provide recommendations and consulting support to management and process owners including risk assessments, control gap reviews, and effectiveness of controls
  • Provide an end-to-end support for reviews and audits, both internal and external, of key accounts, applications, and processes
  • Monitor the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control, accuracy, and completeness of reporting, compliance with laws and regulations, and timely remediation of deficiencies for both operational audits and SOX 404
  • Collaborate with team members and project leaders to simultaneously manage risk and control reviews for multiple business projects, in particular for new system/process implementations
  • Support compliance assessments across a broad range of programs, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), SOC 1 (Service Organization Control) report, and other assurance programs as needed
  • Collaborate with other Red Hat stakeholders to identify continuous compliance opportunities


What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification or equivalent
  • 10+ years of previous experience working in public accounting or a SOX compliance role with some knowledge of IT General Controls (ITGCs)
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures, auditing standards and procedures, Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) standards, laws, and rules and regulations
  • High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
  • Sound judgment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time in an efficient manner with minimal supervision
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Previous management experience
