About the team:

The ERM & Audit team works across the firm to enable Robinhood’s growth and business success is met with an adequate risk adjusted return on capital. Companies pursue risk in order to meet business objectives and to meet shareholder expectations. We work with our business partners to identify those risks to pursue in order to meet business objectives. The rational pursuit of risk is a key business tenant and a success factor in what is a very competitive marketplace. The critical path, however, is to pursue those risks that offer the best risk / return paradigm, this is the essence of risk pursuit. As risks are manifesting at an increasing rate of speed, it is critical to identify inflection points that offer either new business opportunities or point to strengthening mitigation efforts to defend market-share. This requires data-driven analytics and working with cross-functional teams.

What you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Manage of team of Modelers, Data Scientists and Product Managers
  • Supervise and provide oversight over key risk initiatives that incorporate process improvements, controls, governance and new initiatives.
  • Provide executive level reporting and support infrastructure to align and socialize change efforts.
  • Lead strategic projects and perform analyses to support major decisions for the company.
  • Represent the team on new product opportunities and help stand up new businesses.
  • Identify and implement risk management initiatives that move company metrics; partnering with cross-functional teams to improve systems that drive company-wide risk awareness.
  • Collaborate with leaders across the company to identify key metrics, build dashboards, and recommend actions to drive acceptable risk-adjusted returns on capital.
  • Design scalable systems and organizational structures to support Robinhood’s growth in a controlled manner.
  • Manage cross-cutting, months-long operational effectiveness projects that will increase business efficiency and mitigate risk to within tolerance levels.
  • Manage and develop junior team members.

About you:

  • 10-20 years experience at a top-tier financial services firm, management consulting firm, and/or experience in a Product, Business Operations, Internal Strategy and Technology.
  • A record of academic achievement and business experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong working relationships.
  • Resourcefulness, persistence, and ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong analytical abilities and proficiency with Excel, Powerpoint, and/or SQL.
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Exceptional written and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and a strong sense of ownership.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize and juggle multiple projects.
