The Role:


We are currently seeking a Senior Director of Education Services to join our team. This role will report directly to the VP of Global Services and will be responsible for developing and driving the strategic direction of Neo4j’s Commercial Education and Training Services organization, Neo4j University. 

What you will do:

  • Take full accountability for the Education Services’ revenue and cost structure. This includes working with Finance to establish the annual budget & strategic plan.
  • Work with Field Marketing and Presales organizations to maintain the education portfolio and delivery modes
  • Working with Professional Serviced leaders, maintain a strong understanding of Education Services P&L and training forecasting process; set and maintain booking and revenue numbers. 
  • Develop staffing plans for appropriate resourcing based on demand.
  • Maintain expected utilization of training resources.
  • Create competitive, contemporary education offerings to best position Neo4j as the leader in the graph database marketplace.
  • Create clear learning paths for various roles and personas in order to achieve learning objectives and outcomes.
  • Explore the rationale and opportunities to offer foundational graph- and enabling technology courses, such as Graph Fundamentals, Data Science, AI and Machine Learning. 
  • Apply data-driven approaches to define priorities, learning population segmentation strategies, and proactively serve customers' learning needs.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Professional Services leadership to prioritize education and training offerings and to ensure that the training materials are current on all new product releases.
  • Maintain fluency with the latest instructional technologies through the establishment of personal networks, attendance of workshops, reviewing of professional publications, and participation in professional industry associations. Introduce the latest and most applicable trends in training and development for inclusion in the overall strategy, constantly maintaining and updating training programs within the business.
  • Take responsibility for the creative and technical direction of the learning formats and tools used by the Education Services team in collaboration with Product Management and Professional Services.
  • Measure, maintain and continuously improve customer satisfaction with Education Services offerings.
  • Oversee the management of the Education Services team (direct and indirect), which provides training for customers, partners and employees
  • Recruit, manage, motivate and retain an experienced world-class Education Services team.
  • Define and lead strategic initiatives and set and review both quarterly and annual goals and objectives for the team members.
  • Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures and quality standards to ensure the highest levels of performance, customer satisfaction and network/systems security occur.
  • Responsible for the Education Services delivery standards (quality, budget, timeliness) and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with Sales and Professional Services to develop sales collaterals and a compelling case for customers to engage Education Services.
  • Develop processes and measurement tools to engage Professional Services, Customer Success and Customer Support leaders to uncover knowledge gaps, reduce time to value, and increase customer satisfaction and engagement.
  • Work with other Neo4j teams to determine strategies for internal use of Education Services assets for employee learning and development.

What you bring:

  • 10+ years of experience managing an education and training organization in high-growth software companies.
  • Ability to keep education and training offerings relevant within a multi-product company.
  • Proven experience recruiting, managing, motivating and retaining an experienced world-class education and training team.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and best practices in education and training delivery.
  • Experience developing and delivering effective, state-of-the-art training methods (including workshops, simulations, e-learning and coaching) in multi-modal formats.
  • Experience working with partners and a commitment to successfully enabling the partner community.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership qualities as a great communicator and collaborator who is able to create and articulate a vision, and then get buy-in across the organization.
  • Ability to deal with competing priorities and thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Approachable and likeable, and the ability to inspire trust in others.
  • Experience implementing learning management systems, knowledge libraries and other learning infrastructure technologies. 
  • Strong analytical skills as well as a demonstrated passion for research, data analysis, and the insights that are derived from it.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to influence others on the importance of education to our customer’s success.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience with increasing levels of responsibilities within one’s career progression.
  • Knowledge of graph technology a plus
  • Advanced degree in education/training a plus.
