About the job
Red Hat is looking for an experienced Senior Director to lead our Edge business. In this role, you will lead a small team defining, implementing, and delivering the edge strategy. You will serve as the expert in how to establish relevance in expanding market areas and engage both internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and inspire product roadmaps, product messaging, and go-to-market processes. You will work cross-functionally and globally with numerous teams across offerings, corporate and field marketing, services, and partner teams. Your inspiration, collaborative skills and a solid technical background will be critical for success in our fast-paced environment and rapidly evolving market. You will report to the VP and GM of in-vehicle operating systems (OS) and edge. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Define the strategy for Red Hat's Edge business, including product requirements, ecosystem requirements, and go-to-market needs
  • Guide alignment across the business units, engineering, the field team, and the partner team to create a singular Red Hat focus
  • Define market segmentation and create the business cases associated with the potential investment needs and the strategies to capture market share
  • Engage across all product teams to ensure alignment and delivery for portfolio solutions
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop messaging and positioning for the Red Hat Edge portfolio and solutions
  • Coordinate with strategic partners where appropriate to align messaging and solutions; create materials that can be used by all relevant partners for their marketing efforts
  • Gather competitive intelligence on our key competitors; develop differentiation materials for the field and for external consumption
  • Support industry analyst and media briefings, and represent Red Hat at customer and industry events
  • Define pricing and bundling strategy for Edge solutions in collaboration with the business units
  • Lead annual plan for Edge, manage budget, steer goals and objectives, and provide executive reports on a regular basis


What you will bring

  • 15+ years of industry experience, preferably within an area of application development, infrastructure software, including operating systems, cloud, or virtualization, or system management
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills and an ability to lead a matrixed organizational culture
  • Ability to lead a small team that manages cross-delivery through influence leadership
  • Knowledge of the infrastructure, application development, and cloud markets, including key players, market trends, key industry analysts, and technology direction
  • Proven record of building, getting buy-in, and carrying business plans, as well as staying focused and getting the job done in a fast-moving, technical environment
  • Excellent planning, financial, and analytical skills with the ability to apply these skills to complex situations with competing priorities
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, marketing, or business; MBA is a plus
