The Pay Later Merchant Success Manager 1 will join a team committed to ensuring key merchants have a best-in-class experience with PayPal's Global Pay Later (GPL) and products from initial launch throughout the entire relationship. The Pay Later Merchant Success Specialist position is a high-profile customer-facing role requiring outstanding relationship management skills to guide merchants successfully from deployment to operationalization to long term success and growth

The Pay Later Merchant Success Manager 1 will join a team committed to ensuring key merchants have a best-in-class experience with PayPal's Global Pay Later (GPL) and products from initial launch throughout the entire relationship. The Pay Later Merchant Success Specialist position is a high-profile customer-facing role requiring outstanding relationship management skills to guide merchants successfully from deployment to operationalization to long term success and growth.

  • Using established best practices, a Pay Later Merchant Success Specialist will foster long-term relationships, drive growth, and provide ongoing value to their portfolio of strategic Global Pay Later merchants.
  • Coach merchants on pay later integration optimizations, resolve escalations, and provide ongoing marketing best practices and recommendations to enable merchants to drive usage, increased sales and conversion when promoting Global Pay Later programs.
  • Build relationships with merchants to gain insights, competitive intelligence, and deeper opportunity to increase growth for Global Pay Later while also providing proactive, differentiated support to merchants.
  • Maximizing growth by evaluating macro and micro trends, monitoring key metrics, and providing insights, optimizations, and strategic support.
  • Collaborate cross functionally across a matrix organization; working with members of analytics, product, legal, FLOD, Sales, CSM and marketing teams to deliver best in class, cohesive solutions to merchants.



Experience & Skills:

  • Adaptability to changing business objectives and constraints
  • Merchant program and relationship management experience
  • Great cross-functional communication skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting abilities
  • Bachelor's degree, with minimum of 4 years of merchant management experience or similar relationship management experience
  • Proven ability to oversee and develop growth strategies and execution
  • Demonstrated capability to deliver against aggressive goals
  • Proven track record of collaboration and influence in a matrixed environment
  • Keen sense of urgency and the ability to "get things done" across matrixed organization
  • Bachelor's Degree, with MBA degree preferred
