Operations Section Manager

An Operations Section Manager oversees the activities of Operations Service Professionals and supports the successful achievement of the organization?s goals. Primary focus is ensuring accountability for meeting the organization?s performance expectations, with a focus on risk management and efficiency. Provides on-going performance management of Operations Service Professionals, including formal performance evaluations and career development. Creates effective development plans and delivers feedback using methods tailored to each Operations Service Professional to maintain performance standards and foster an environment of continued improvement and skills development across a diverse workforce. Reviews work product to ensure that firm policy is upheld and industry and compliance regulations are met. Must be able to handle escalated client and participant inquiries.
The Operations Section Manager also assists with reviewing share and money movement transactions, as well as any changes to the client's account (title, address, etc.). The approver is responsible for verifying the accuracy of the request, confirming that there are no fraud concerns, and confirming that the client has the shares/money available, if a transfer is being completed. Most of the day is spent reviewing and approving transactions. According to current Segregation of Duties policies, these functions must be done by a Morgan Stanley employee at the Director level or higher.

Series 99 or 7 required
Bachelor degree, management work experience strongly preferred
