The Role

TxB's Risk Management team oversees all risks across TxB globally. Potential candidates will have a bird's eye view of an exciting new business and the opportunity to work closely with TxB and GS leadership teams. They will also have a view into all TxB products, new business initiatives, go-to-market strategies, client interactions, regulatory dynamic and the full spectrum of business risks and controls.

TxB Operational and Non-Financial Risk Manager's principal responsibility will be:
  • Operational Risk: Lead TxB' s operational risk program including RCSA, KRIs, risk assessments, controls design and testing, risk event management, scenario analysis and BCP
  • Compliance controls: Collaborate with TxB's compliance risk leads to build and document demonstrable controls for applicable laws, rules & regulations
  • Business resilience: Partner with engineering, product, operations and vendors for a unified TxB resilience plan
  • Data management: Lead TxB's monthly risk reporting and data governance program
  • Governance: Support TxB Risk program buildout and implementation, provide oversight of key policies and procedures, and coordinate various governance forums


As a risk leader in a startup environment, TxB Operational and Non-Financial Risk Manager will secondarily engage with a broad range of non-financial topics including:
  • Partner with TxB Product teams to present new products to appropriate internal committees
  • Coordinate with second line (risk, compliance, controllers, etc.) and third line of defense (audit) stakeholders
  • Assist with TxB's global expansion program, including the development of local business and compliance controls
  • Support regulatory and executive leadership interface
  • Ad-hoc issue management


Basic Qualifications
  • 7-12 years' experience in operational risk or similar control function
  • Execution focus: Ability to be creative, collaborate widely and deliver on key risk objectives in a fast paced start-up environment
  • Extremely strong presentation skills, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with limited supervision
  • Extremely strong presentation skills, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong data analysis skills and understanding of underwriting models. Visualizing complex data analyses and communicating to a wide variety of audiences, including senior leadership
  • Proactive Risk management attitude
  • Ability to manage several projects / tasks simultaneously


Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior Transaction Banking or payments related experience
