What the Role Is:

Socure's Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) group is looking for a communications officer to develop, manage, and otherwise improve upon our current user education program around policies, practices, and procedures.

Work with assessors, privacy officers and engineers, risk managers, and vendor auditors, as well as technical subject matter advisors from across the organization to create and distribute educational materials to help GRC uphold our standards-based training requirements.

The successful candidate must be able to create compelling and engaging training materials for a 100% distributed global workforce. The ideal candidate would also be familiar with standards and practices from organizations like AICPA, NIST, ISO—or resourceful enough to Google acronyms—as well as reference material from standards agencies, industry-sources, and customer requirements.

The tools available for this job include your wits, courage, charm, character, and a standard array of business software (LMS, Slack, Confluence, email, etc.).

In this role, you will:

  • Manage security awareness training and other training programs for the company.
  • Develop new training and enhance existing materials as required by our security certifications and business needs.
  • Work with other groups to make the best use of the tools and services available, as well as bring actionable recommendations and plans for improvements.
  • Support the GRC group when needed with a variety of tasks, including documenting processes and procedures, reviewing content on a mandated regular basis, and promoting good practices through training and internal communications efforts.
  • Provide crafted and consistent messages that align accuracy, candor, and brevity.
  • Evaluate and recommend practices and policies to reflect the company's operations and values within specific industry-standard frameworks.
  • Collaborate selflessly to help GRC succeed.

 Requirements

  • 3+ years with educational content creation with a technical and/or GRC-based focus.
  • An applicable degree (technology, education, communications, etc.).
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence collaborating in a 100% distributed workforce.

Nice-To-Haves

  • Experience with certifications and attestations from AICPA, ISO, NIST, and others.
  • Familiarity with U.S. and international data privacy regulations and initiatives a plus.
  • Skills with communicating with both non-native-English speakers and non-technical-English readers.
  • Knowledge of IT Security trends and practices a plus.
  • Awesome cover letter & samples of previous work.
