The group's main business is the implementation of mission-critical digital mobile communication systems for Government & Public Safety Communications customers.
Job Description
- Troubleshoot and maintain a high availability radio communications network to meet or exceed both the contractual SLA target and customer expectations.
- Responsible for the triage and escalation of incoming fault tickets.
- Responsible for the troubleshooting and resolution of tier 1 field issues on networking, telephony, RF, and point to point microwave equipment.
- Responsible for completing preventative maintenance on various equipment to ensure proper system operation with focus on trend analysis and documentation of results.
- Responsible for routine communication and reporting to customers and internal stakeholders on the status of assigned projects and cases.
- Rotating On-Call After Hours Support Required.
- Develop and document solutions to difficult technical problems encountered as part of system maintenance, upgrades or support issues.
- Continuous training in the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques.
- Work cohesively with cross functional teams in support of engineering, project management and sales personnel.
- The Ideal candidate will have an Associates Degree in Electronics, Information Technology, or another relevant field. Alternatively two years of field experience as a network or radio
technician will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- The ideal candidate should have knowledge in standard telephony and dedicated data circuits, as well as knowledge of packet switching techniques. TCP/IP and MPLS.
- The ideal candidate will have knowledge of RF systems, such as transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks.
- Should be highly computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
- Should have strong self-management skills and "people" skills to work closely with Motorola’s customers and subcontractor (MSS) community, as well as Motorola Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and customer service teams.
- Should be self-motivated and self-managed to perform the required duties without direct onsite supervision.
- Should have knowledge of RF systems, such as transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks.
- Candidate will be expected to have or be willing to obtain Network+ and Security+.
Basic Requirements
- Basic Requirements Associates or Networking Certificate and 1+ years experience or 2+ years total experience in networking, IT, RF, and LMR
- **Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer; active clearance is a plus.**
