Our Growth Mindset (The Mission):

Think back on your time in school and a project or experience that got you fired up, curious, and motivated to try your best. Can you remember one? If you’re like us, there are some projects we remember decades later -- those times when we were so engaged in what we were doing that we couldn’t help but learn.

Seesaw is a learning platform that brings educators, students, and families together to deepen student learning. Teachers design and facilitate powerful learning experiences, students create, reflect, collaborate and make their learning visible, and families actively support and celebrate student learning. Seesaw is used by millions of K-12 students in over half the schools in the U.S.

The Curriculum (Your Role):

This is a unique opportunity that heavily supports an open and creative mindset to employee engagement and will welcome experimentation as we bring our vision around employee connection to life.

As the Engagement and Events Manager you will plan and execute exceptional internal in-person and virtual events that connect employees, are aligned with our values, and keeps employees engaged and excited about being a part of Seesaw. The ideal candidate is incredibly organized, is a strong critical thinker, can bring a programmatic lens to event planning, and consistently puts on events that surprise and delight event attendees.

You will work closely with the People team and leaders across the organization in planning and executing meaningful, fun, and engaging events. This role will have the opportunity to build out and manage a small team over time.

Subject Matter (Your Responsibilities):

  • Plan, produce, and execute several in-person and virtual employee events throughout the year from smaller sub-team events to leadership team offsites to twice a year multi-day company-wide events.
  • Own the scheduling, calendaring, logistics, budget, and travel preparations for all events.
  • Take a holistic and programmatic approach to regularly occurring events.
  • Create event guidelines and event structures that are repeatable and can be iterated on so that managers and executives can easily support in regularly planning events for their teams.
  • Work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders as needed and effectively communicate and bring teams along with project plans.
  • Partner with and manage external vendors to assist with planning and driving high-quality events.
  • Regularly research and stay up to date on new and unique event-related employee engagement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the People team to create excitement and drive participation around events.
  • Regularly collect feedback and analyze data related to events so we are continuously iterating on and improving events while having an equitable and inclusive lens.

Prerequisites (The Requirements):

  • 5+ years of event management, event planning, or event production experience with 2+ years of experience building and leading events teams.
  • Incredibly detail-oriented and results-driven with a knack for organization.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure, can roll with the punches, and has strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Creative-minded, brings new ideas to existing projects, and continuously pushes the team to try new things.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, bring people along in your process, and work across the organization from leadership to finance to members of the people team.
  • Ability to drive high-profile initiatives and present approaches to bring the executive team along in planning.
  • A love of bringing people together. Working with people outside of your team and outside of the company excites you. You like collaborating with new people (such as vendors) and figuring problems out together.
